13.72 billion years in the making.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

If someone has had a personal experience, they'll believe in it. If someone hasn't, why would they believe?

Most personal experiences I've come across are clearly gross exaggerations of mildly bizarre happenings. And any other ghost story that has been passed down through generations is but a large-scale game of telephone. It starts with something small and billows out into some fantastic, wondrous ghost story that often barely resembles the original tale.

Ghosts don't exist. Anybody who says otherwise is being a massive f**king idiot.

>Attitude i'm annoyed by

If you don't believe in something, that's okay, I respect that...until you start acting like a dick about it.

I'm annoying? Thanks for the heads up.

Oh, and my point is true. Believing in anything "paranormal" is f**king stupid and means you're a complete and utter moron who needs to go and get an education. I'm not trying to be nice, I'm bringing a little sanity to this thread. People who believe in ghosts are idiots and should be told so, period.

If your aim is to get the opposition on your side, it's best not to take a hostile approach. Nobody wants to listen to the logical and scientific explanations for these "paranormal" happenings if you can't give them without so much anger.

Unsuccessfully trying to bring science and reason to The Flood...

The BigBangTheory wasn't a fact so it's not 100% true...

I am prepared to grant you that The Big Bang is still only theoretical, BUT it actually has credible and measurable evidence to support it, not a fuzzy photograph.

There are 3 main indicators to support the Big Bang idea:

1. Distribution of elements throughout the Universe is pretty much uniform throughout. This is consistent with the idea that it all came from a single point. If all of the universe was created as it is now, you would expect a lot of variation of elemental concentration.

2. Measured trajectories of visible galaxies indicate to an expanding universe. We can track these objects to see where they are going. But we can also rewind the clock, and see where they came from. They seem to converge, supporting the idea of an original starting point.

3. The last point is Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation. I won't go into it here, but if you read the page, you might understand it.

So yes, the big bang is still just a theory. But there is plenty of evidence for it.

There's a “U” and “I” in union but just an “I” in my beliefs

Science tells me not to.

This isn't a thread dedicated to providing evidence for the Big Bang, this is about the validity of claims regarding spirits and ghosts. Plus, Azzuage's behavior in this thread has led me to believe he's nothing more than a common troll, so it'd be best if you ignored him.

Also, you didn't even mention redshift and blueshift.

Come on, man!

Matter can not be created nor destoyed.

That scientific fact shoots it down no matter what.

I really don't want to derail the thread, but your understanding of the Law of Conservation of Matter, along with your understanding of the Big Bang theory, is absolutely horrid.

But seriously, get back to talking about ghosts.

He brought it up, so I decided to try and enlighten him. I don't mind if he is a troll tbh, I like trying to explain science principles.

Lol, I didn't mention red shift, because:
1. I thought everyone knew about it already
2. It is kind of covered in my "we know the universe is expanding" point.
3. I remember reading recently that there is some contention as to whether the shift is actually caused by the Doppler effect. I didn't want to add points which may be wrong.

Too much evidence for me not to.
Your schizophrenic episodes are not "evidence".

Typical idiot who can't argue to save his life. There's clearly video, audio, and photograph evidence. Not to mention the millions of different accounts of ghost sightings. But keep being close minded, I couldn't care less about your stance on it.
No, there aren't. Rose, sometimes I can't tell if you are trolling or just stupid. Can you PLEASE stop posting here? No one thinks it's funny anymore.

I actually thought your story was interesting, but eyewitness testimony is unreliable at best and isn't evidence for anything.

I thought of a couple things whilst reading it;

-Metal tower that has been heated, and consequently expanded during the day can cause creaking noises when it contracts in the cool night

-High stress situations like being over seas at war mixed with highly strung soldiers are bound to cause reactions. Just watch any tense war film there will almost invariably be the line "I think I saw something".

-People were bored on guard duty at night and coupled with the previous 2 reasons the mind is likely to be playing tricks.

OT: I, personally, don't believe in Ghosts - but I'm not one of these angry non-believers. If you do, you probably have a good reason to do so and that's fine by me. I reckon if I was woken up by ghostly shenanigans I'd believe myself.

In my opinion, ghosts and such are entra-dimensional beings that enter our 3D dimension. We see them in ablurry, ghastly way because our brain can't comprehend 5D beings, or 4D beings.
