How come we only see them on Installation 05 and not anywhere else? Aren't they used to protect important facilities from The Flood/

I believe it comes from one or more of three reasons. The first is we have not seen another Halo in gameplay since Installation 05. Secondly, Requiem was more about the Prometheans. Lastly it may have just been simple oversight. I would not be too surprised if we saw them again, but at the same time they might just add completely different enemy types.

Because Halo 4 is a reboot.

Jk...

Seriously though, notice how there's only 4 returning Covies and they're the same ones from CE. Also notice the emphasis on mystery: scanning the ship, huge -blam!- alien planet, the Didact's symbol, the Promethean surprise, the Didact.

It's meant to be more similar to CE than Halo 2 and 3.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Becasue it's built on the Reach engine, and that engine doesn't have Sentinels... It doesn't have Prometheans either, but they're humanoid; easy to base on other humanoid models.

Seriously, there are two types of types of enemies in Halo 4, two! Not having Sentinels is strange. What buildt Requiem, and what manages its maintenance? EVERYTHING else Forerunner is built by sentinels. They're not only for combat. Did the Didact dispose of all the Sentinels once he turned?

It would have been pretty cool if there was a Flood allegiance moment in Halo 4, but with sentinels provided by the Librarian.

There were Sentinels they lead you to the Librarian remember? That's just the last time you see them in the entire game though.

You see sentinels in the first part of the game but then after Prometheans start popping up you don't see them allot or at all. It does feel weird not having them. I can easily see Promethean watchers helping in maintenance but not to the extent of sentinels.

Sentinels show up twice in Halo 4. The last time the game took place on a Halo was Halo 3, Installation 04B. I think each Halo comes with it's own uniqueness about it, in terms of how its protected. Installation 05 uses Sentinal Enforcers and Gondolas. Installation 04 didn't have those, as far as I know.

Sentinels show up 3 times in Halo 4. It's really pathetic. Even the Sentinels in Halo 3 actually did something. And you could ride on them.

Requiem:
-at the start of rally point bravo
-right before you go to the pulse generators
-combative Sentinels fight off the Hunters (this is the only time where they have a weapon)

Reclaimer:
-they're all over the place in that Forerunner structure. It's possible to spawn them after the Prometheans spawn and the Prometheans will attack them but they don't attack back :/

Midnight:
-they can be seen as allies and enemies. Allies in the weapons cache, enemies everywhere else

Yeah, these are the ones I am talking about. We only see them in one level during the entire Halo trilogy.

I thought we would have seen them on Requiem.

Forgot about Midnight. Maybe they're tied to the Sentinal Factory and since we haven't seen one of those since Halo 2 (that I know of) then that might be why they haven't shown up.
