I wanted to become a recognized member of the flood, then I took an arrow in the knee.
I used to be a competitive player like you, until I took a realization to the mind.
I used to play video games to win. Now I realize that video games are not meant to be beaten. Video games are meant to be enjoyed. I remember all the times I raged on games like Halo, CoD, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, any many other competitive video games and, to be honest, I never enjoyed competing against other players. Dont get me wrong. I love Halo. It is one my favorite FPS series, but I only ever truly enjoyed playing campaign and custom games. MatchMaking was an uncomfortable experience for me. I would be completely concentrated on the game. I would ignore phone calls, sacrifice sleep so I can keep winning, etc. I would also get angry if I didnt win. Does this sound entertaining to you? It sure doesnt to me. It was frustrating. I am not even a bad player either. Making a new list of my favorite games, I find that I actually enjoy casual games. Games like GTA, Dead Island, and The Elder Scrolls seem to make it to the top of my list. As you can tell, these games arent very competitive. Flood... I am becoming a casual player. I believe that the time for multiplayer versus should end. Single player and co-op should be the future of gaming. What do you think?
