Subject: Scariest Science Fiction Civilization

Online Gaming's pretty much like a zombie movie. There are a lot of mindless idiots roaming around but you find some survivors on the way.

The Borg has always kind of terrified me as a child.

They may not be as powerful as half of the civilisations listed here, but aesthetically, they always have frightened me.

How can machines be scary? A simple question.
Watch this film.
That strangely reminds me of the thing in a weird way gotta watch it now.
It gave me a sense of being alone, truly alone on a bleak planet haunted by old bloodshed. Stranded and forgotten.

Watch this film.
Is it just me, or do a lot of "scary" things either have them becoming us or we becoming them?

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

as humans with limited experience of the universe, humanity is the most relatable thing that we can corrupt hideously to strike a cord within the collective psyche. look at a lot of the old folk tales.

Reavers from Firefly
Which is the frightening part, their savagery or the possibility of becoming one?
The part where they kill you and rape your corpse.
Or -blam!- you than kill you. They don't essentially go in a predetermined order. Wait, how did you bypass the filter?
how do you not know how to do that?

Pure Insanity
The point of war is not to die for one's clan, but it's to make the other bastard die for his
Right before you die, there is always a chance to save yourself, sieze that chance and live to fight another day
The best way to kill someone is to fight them with the same weapons they use and make them know you are better than them, not because of superior weaponry, but because of superior skill.
Hidden in the shadows, Clothed in camo, Armed to the teeth. Hunting.

None, really. Because it's fiction, and I haven't encountered a fictional civilization that quite makes the cut for being scary to me.

I don't think that can ever be fixed than... fear is good, in small amounts.

My happiness is not the means to any end. It is the end. It is its own purpose.

I hate only those who deserve my hate.
That's a lot of people.

Necrons (back when they were hell bent on destroying all forms of life), 'Nids, Dark Eldar

Also Flood.

I wouldn't call that a civilization. It was...something. Something else. Something other.

On second thought if I post what I was going to post I might get in trouble.

I was testing out alt codes. I needed something that kind of related.

"Life is constantly fleeting from your grasp even from the very day it's bestowed upon you, but the shadow of death is always there, waiting for its chance to take you away."

"Even though many may not think so, ignorance and innocence are one and the same. The only difference is that one sounds nicer."

"I once knew a man who spent his entire life contemplating where we go after our death....it's a shame he realized it a second too late to tell anyone."

A) because we were running from the flood into their turf and B) because the forerunners are asswipes.
