Well, my dad just gave me one for Christmas. It's early I know, but my dad and mom are divorced so i get his gift before hand.

He also got my a high grade screen protector with a life time garuntee. If it ever comes off, i can get another one free. On top of that, I got a new case so it's more durable now.

ANY WAYS, this is the first smart phone I've ever actually owned... Is there any cool apps or widgets I should look for?

Anything I should know about it? My plan gives me unlimited Text, Call, and Data(Unless I'm calling a land line before 7PM)

thanks.

Check out the google play store.

Dont expect your phone to be a major entertainment device. Its still a phone, the apps just there to compliment it.

Start off with Astro file manager so you can access the phones internal folders and such.
You might want to get swiftkey to replace the default keypad.

Please do not send me group invites.

Honestly, unlock, root, and install a custom rom like Cyanogenmod or AOKP. It's a bit of a learning curve, but it's the first thing I do with new phones. I didn't even bother trying to use my Nexus 4 stock.

Apps I can't live without:
Swiftkey Flow
Titanium Backup
Rom Manager
Lightflow
Widgetlocker
Notifier Pro
Airdroid
Rdio or Spotify
Unified Remote
Venmo
Starbucks

Also, check out mycolorscreen for icon/background/layout ideas.

JuiceDefender or Juice Defender Ultimate if youve got the 4ish bucks to get Ultimate. Makes your battery last a lot longer. I suggest using it on Aggressive setting. Opera Mobile is very good on phones, super fast.

Advanced Task Killer, very good Task Killer that saves up battery as well. Get any Battery Widget for your home screen to see exactly how much percentage is left in the life.

These 3 for the Battery will increase it's life tenfold.

Games, whatever you desire, the Angry Birds series is free on Android. I use MX Player and it's Codecs to play video files like movies I have.

Xbox Live App, Steam App.

Got PDANet and Remote Mouse for PC, PDANet lets me tether the internet to the PC in the odd case that it gets disconnected. Remote Mouse for in case the mouse breaks. Good thing is that in the case that you can't use your PC because of the mouse or Internet, Androids connect really well with PC and anything can be downloaded on the phone and put into the PC so you can download the PC software and easily use your USB to put it on the Computer and install it.

Not much really on my end. If I had to recommend my favorite Browsers it'd be Opera for the Speed and Dolphin for the accessibility. It's a really cool browser and is faster than many other browsers, just short of the Opera speed with some really cool features. At the very least I recommend trying it out.

Enjoy your new phone. Also, buy a case for that phone, isn't it a glass front? Not faring good for it so I recommend getting a tough one. Or Ghost/Carbon Armor if you can find a place that sells it nearby (try the most populated mall in the area), best thing ever for a phone.
