Had there not been a war?
Let's say with the pressure of the allies over further expansion and the denial of the Soviet Pact over the split of Poland, Hitler stopped his ambitions of expanding Germany. It still has Austria, Saarland, Sudetenland and the Rhineland under it's rule. So with the war not occuring, how long would Germany last?
Many criticize Hitler's rule claiming he only brought the nation out of it's depression due to the massive buildup of it's military, but with no war to fight, the economy would collapse. So, how long would the nation last. It seemed to do fine between 1933-39, and Hitler was even named TIMES "Person of the year".
With the war not occurring in 1939, there's no telling it would occur in the near future if the economy does fall to collapse, and it would even give Germany more time to work on it's "wonder weapons" such as the V-2 Rocket, Me 262 fighter jet, Sturmgewehr 44 Assault Rifle, and their supertanks. Possibly even the nuclear bomb.
