I absolutely loved the movie, but that is not the main point of this thread. (Though, The Hobbit discussion is welcome!)
For those of you that saw it in high frame rate, how did you like it? It freaking blew my mind! I went in thinking it would look a little better but I never imagined this huge of a change. To me this is a bigger deal than HD and I don't want to go back, unfortunately, I don't think this would work as well in a lower budget movie because everything has to be PERFECT! Every speck of make-up has to be top notch or you're going to notice.
It took a while for my eyes to adjust. I felt like the movie was on fast forward for 25 minutes. When I left the theater my eyes were all scrambled and it was weird to look people in the face for a while after, haha!
It really set a different tone (I saw regular 2D first in normal 24fps so I could compare) and changed the viewing experience of the movie, I was focused on completely different parts and it felt like I wasn't watching the same movie almost.
It felt like I was more consumed in the world and actually standing their watching it happen in real life. This makes 3D MASSIVELY better, I have always had problems in 3D because of my one bad eye and it was completely GONE in this movie. It also made the CG SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better it was insane how much of a difference it made.
