Subject: Best historical civilisation.

I'm interested to see which civilisations are preferred.

For me it's the Vikings, I love their architecture, ideology and mythology.

The Romans. They've given so much to modern society it's rediculous. From their theology, astronomy, math, military tactics, and many other scientific feats, along with being a fairly interesting civilization. After them would be either the Celts or the Chinese.

No human stupidity trolled the idiots, anybody with half a brain knew nothing was going to happen.

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

Japan, dang those people fancy with all their fancy food, and fancy architecture, and fancy writing, and fancy ceremonies.

Fancy schmancy people if you ask me.

  • 12.24.2012 4:35 AM PDT

Probably the Spartans. For their warrior culture of course, and I've always been a big fan of the Battle of Thermopylae.

Then China for the sheer beauty of Chinese people, culture and history. I guess I have Romance of the Three Kingdoms to thank for getting me into that stuff.

I also have a fascination with Japan, but I haven't really studied that as extensively as China.

+1,
+ China, the wars they have had when they were divided...
China would be my 2nd.

military tactics

Nothing quite like deploying the good old Russian tactic of outdying your enemy.

Either the Romans or the Spartans.
The Spartans have always facinated me, espicially their focus on military, like how every male was trained from the age of six to be a soldier.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I also have to go with Ancient Egypt. The stuff they pulled off without modern tech advances is just flat out amazing!

The Aztecs.....I love a civilization that has regular human sacrifices.

Also, watch Apocalypto, awesome movie about the mayans who were quite similar to the Aztecs.

The mongols. While they weren't exactly civilized, they conquered the majority of the known world in about 70 years.

I'd have to go with the Romans and then the venicians as a close second because they were so ahead of their time. When I played Assassins creed 3 I always had the feeling that the American Revolution took place before Venice was built because all the buildings in Venice looked so nice and polished and then all the buildings during the revolution looked so rugged and poorly built.
