Subject: Fired due to being "irresistible".?

Unsuccessfully trying to bring science and reason to The Flood...

I think that a man firing a woman because he doesn't think he would be able to control himself is pretty moronic. If anything, I think its more of an admission of guilt than anything. It is clear that he really thought about an affair with her.

I'm pretty sure it is illegal here in the Uk to fire someone without proper grounds, and being a good looking woman does not qualify for that.

Okay then, flip it around.

She decides to quit (in order to "protect her marriage from risk") and the employer says "No, you have to stay. We are entitled to your services".

That sounds utterly ridiculous if the situation is reversed. Which is a pretty basic method of looking at something to see if it really is "fair".

I would argue that it is unfair because of the economic climate. If the man fires his assistant, he is sure to find another pretty much straight away. There are always people looking for work. But the woman is now out of a job, and with few going around it is a pretty bad situation for her.

BUT if she leaves of her own volition then that is up to her. She has made that decision to become unemployed. And like I said, the dentist will quickly find another assistant.

I am assuming direct control.

There's no "CP" being posted anywhere. A misleading title, maybe, but nothing illegal. Like I said, if you have a concern try messaging the mods instead of inanely spamming another discussion. Also, quit with the green text attempts, it makes you look like a damn fool.

If either the employer or employee wants to end the relationship, it should be ended. When there is not an agreement on both sides that the relationship is mutually beneficial there should be no relationship. That being said, it's a -blam!- way to get fired.

You can't green text here, this is the flood, and if you desperately need the mod's attention try messaging Recon instead of posting an entirely irrelevant post in a decent discussion.
I was making fun the Flood via green text. Sorry, but you're not helping.

Neither are you.

If you see rule breaking topics and have reported them, then you have "Done your job". It is not your right or obligation to interject "look at this one, and that one" off-topic into other threads thinking that it will either get results or make a point.

"Simply irresistible. "

This doesn't seem right to me. Is this a state that can terminate someone for any reason? I know here in Kentucky an employer can fire someone for any reason. Mean and unfair, but as you said, not illegal.

My first hunch was the boss fired her because she wasn't interested in him.

The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

As you waste your breath complaining about life, Someone out there is breathing their last. Appreciate what you have.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.

Yeah it's not right or fair, but honestly I think employers can fire you for whatever their reasons are. It was the employers mistake to tell her it was because she was "irresistible".

Does she somehow want her job back?

Who would want to continue working for an employer who was forced by a court to rehire you and keep you employed?

And honestly, who would want to go to a dentist where the dentist and hygienist are flirting while he has his hands in your mouth?

Country: United States.
State: Pennsylvania.
County: Warren.
I graduated from high school on June-11-2011. I'm 19 right now. I'm turning 20 in December. I like playing video games, and board games. I like reading Sci-Fi, and World War II novels, and what not.

"There is nothing better in the world than being better at a video game than someone else....oh wait"

I would do her she's an OK MILF.
