She ate two little Christmas lights, she seems fine and is acting like always, but I wanted somebody else's opinion.

Nahman Jayden, Eff bee eye. I herd that you're the origammy killah...

I'd take her to the vet just to be safe

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

Um, glass lights? Get her there ASAP before they rip up her insides?

The big C9 bulbs or those tiny ones they've been using for the last couple of years or those new LED lights?

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

If the lights don't come out when she goes to the bathroom, then I think the vet would help.

Please do not send me group invites.

You're a highly irresponsible pet owner if you haven't taken it to the vet.

It happened Friday night and she's already pooped 5 times since that, she doesn't seem hurt, I touched her tummy and she didn't whine, also we've been playing and going on walks like we usually do. She's a 5 month old retriever shepherd.

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

Take it to the vet. You don't know what that stuff can do to their insides

Even if you have slight worry, take her. Why risk it?

Did you check if the light bulbs were in that poop?

I would take her to the vet. Better safe than sorry.

What a waste....

My dogs have done that and been fine.

Still, might want to check it out.

What type of dog is it?

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

I'd take your dog to the vet to be on the safe side, OP.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

With it being the holiday(s), you are going to have a hard time getting in to see a vet. If you can (and they are there) call your vet and ask them. My guess is they are going to be most concerned about whether or not the bulb(s) were broken/chewed/fragmented by the puppy. If so, then she may have shards in her GI tract and they will probably be concerned.

If she just chewed and pulled the bulbs off of the wiring and there was no sign of broken glass (indicating that he swallowed them whole), I would imagine that the vet would be less concerned and inclined to let her pass them.

But call and be sure. Be aware that if they are closed, you are then looking at an emergency vet visit, which is incredibly expensive, but if it is needed, completely worth every penny.

I think this is what happened cause when I checked the tree two little lights were missing of the lower part and all you could see was the wire.

Why are you looking for a reason NOT to take your dog to the vet? If you were just after validation that your dog is fine and refuse to take advice from anyone else why did you make this thread.
