I'm gonna finish it. Just like Jigga did to the pyramid.

So a few days ago Bungie updated their jobs page with these roles.

Localization Editor - German
Localization Editor - French
Localization Editor - Italian
Localization Editor - Spanish (Castilian)

I'm no expert (in game development), but would the fact that they are getting to the point that they are going to translate their game into different languages imply that they are not too far away from coming up with a final product ready to be bug tested?

Localization isn't something that happens directly at the end of production, it happens throughout production. They exist to advise developers with things like "That gesture that you have all the characters doing is super offensive in the Japanese Culture, perhaps you should change it up a bit?" and such.

Not to mention, there's way too much work to save to the end.

Epic Bread

If their title is slated for a 2013 release, I'd imagine that around this time of year they'd be approaching or just recently achieved feature complete status.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I would imagine they would have a lot done by now to have translators come in.

I'm guessing by that information that they're about 3/4 done with the game, and that it's scheduled for a holiday 2013 release.

Bye.

I'd assume that once the script is finished and near finalised they bring in the translators to re-write everything. So the game is probably quite far along now but it's got a while to go before it's complete.

Break down, every single one of you.

I don't think that means they are near being done with the game, just that they are almost done writing the script. There is a lot of work that has to happen separate from that.

Do you know about time travel?

Localization can happen at anytime through development. Now as far as saying that they almost have a finalized product to be tested is kinda far off. My best guess is that they have a solid form of dialogue in the game and want to translate it.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

There's this game called Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. It came out last fall/holiday season for Japan (I believe). Anyways, this game is so good it's getting a North American release. Now, this game that came out a year ago needed to be localized for NA and Europe. NA is getting it sometime in January coming up. It was suppose to come in the first quarter of this year, but got delayed a year so it could actually be localized RIGHT.

Localizing isn't an easy last minute thing. However, there is probably enough of Destiny to start this process. I would say they are probably over 2 years in production of Destiny. If Destiny is slated for Fall 2013, then this production cycle is quite long.

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

They could just be looking now because they will need to find people for the job when the time comes.

A lot of people want that game because Ghibli did a lot of the story and almost all the art/cutscenes. I would get it if I had a PS3.

I think Bungie can get a lot of resources together.

Do you mean Brazilian? We Portuguese don't usually get game translations/dubbing (thank god!), but the Brazilians do.
