Subject: Anyone else here hate the USPS?

This is now my main account. My former account was xKingGhidorahx. I've been on this site since 2009.

I've heard numerous stories about them screwing up or just being plain stupid.

For me, I ordered a cool gift for my sister two weeks ago for Christmas. It shipped from Dallas, TX to Philadelphia, PA then to Charlotte, NC (Where I live). Why it didn't just ship straight from Dallas to Charlotte is beyond me, and when it reached Philadelphia it just sat there for five days.

Well it finally got to Charlotte this morning, but it's too late for a delivery before Christmas. I'd go pick it up myself since it's 15 minutes down the road, but the USPS has strict protocol and won't let me pick it up while it's in transit. UPS or Fed Ex would be happy to let me pick it up myself... *Sigh*

Anyone else have problems with the USPS?

Why are you looking at this?

UPS is the way to go.

There's a reason they are in debt while private enterprise is profiting. Government incompetence should NOT be a surprise to anyone.

The reason why they ship it from place to place is because they don't always have a truckload full of packages going to Charlotte from Dallas.

But nonetheless, I don't like USPS. I actually sold a golf club once and USPS "lost" it, so I had to pay back the buyer all his money. It pissed me off.

Just use UPS. I worked for them, and we did -blam!- right. Unless you order heavy crap that you should pick up yourself.

Believe me, I would. But I don't think that you can be in control of shipping when you order something off Amazon...

Just for the record, cough syrup is the bane of my existence.

I'm not terribly fond of them.

I have no qualms with USPS, but I absolutely am at my last straw with UPS. I order anything that goes through them with the express shipping, I check the tracking periodically and they always do the same thing every time. It's literally a 10 minute drive from where I'm at at 6:00 A.M. and I don't get it until 2:00 P.M. the next day. It's ludicrous! I don't have a car so I can't drive to pick it up, I have to sit there and take it from them.

Websites usually let you select that. Also, we get a ton of amazon packages. Also, we love them. Amazon items are usually very light weight.

Damn. Well I'll have to remember that the next time I order something, I love UPS.

I use Amazon prime and get free two day shipping, they don't joke around. Hell I paid 3.99 for a car battery to be at my door the next day (120+ value) and they came through. I have had 0 issues with UPS but a ton with USPS.

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

The only trouble I have with them is when I import something and the delivery or pick up gets screwed somehow. They're not that bad though.

My dad is a USPS letter carrier. The service isn't the worst part about the company. They treat their employees, I mean, slaves, like -blam!-. My dad broke his foot working and they tried to get him to work miles and miles away in a facility that sorts letters (I think) which is in the ghetto during the night shift, which he can't do because he has a family. He didn't do it and we are currently living off an emergency money bank account that belongs to his family. That is 1% of the bull**** that goes on.
