The world is not beautiful: And that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

Posted by: aTALLmidgetJust because 343 Didn't shine a spotlight on the puzzle pieces, doesn't mean they're not there.

Really it's less of a plothole and more of a "343 somehow managed to ass up a simple thing, again"

Here's another: How could one archer missile destroy a Covenant warship?

lol

Shields were down.

Shielding isn't the Cruisers only protection, it is also protected by thick armor.

This is a Covenant warship we're talking about, one archer missile cannot take the whole thing out.

I'd also like to know why the Dawn looks suddenly like a completely different ship from the Dawn we knew in Halo 3... And also seemed to get an overhaul in size. No, not a plot hole, but it really, REALLY bothered me.

And one bomb can't take down a carrier.

I was lost after cortana started cloning herself, It literally made no sense to me how a hologram can physically interact with the Didact. I thought holograms were projections...

The design had to slightly be changed so it could actually become a playable level? You're acting like this is a big deal.

Very true... Both were issues they could have made with an obvious and believable outcome rather than "Oh, he just did!", or "Plot armor!" for the answer.

A parody thread of a troll thread?

God help us...

You're so quick to pull the "Troll" card. How is posting plot holes about the Hobbit (Or Halo 4) a troll thread?

Because all reasonable (and unreasonable) arguments and questions were answered long ago, and yet some people feel the need to bring them back up.
Because everyone on the entire planet was present for the singular debate that was held on the internet for these topics right?

Acting like it's a big deal? I only said it bothers me... They didn't need a complete overhaul in design and aesthetics for a playable level. They could have easily kept the Dawn as it was from Halo 3 and it would have been fine. But I guess any excuse will do in defense.

Shrooms> LSD

1: Luck, as Chief has relied on multiple times. Why did Cortana choose Chief in the first place? BECAUSE HE WAS LUCKY HERP

2: The shield was hardLIGHT. It's essentially LIGHT energy that is solidified (compressed photons). That doesn't mean it won't still travel the speed of light. The speed of light is faster than the speed of the explosion. Completely plausible with reaction time of the most complex AI in the galaxy.

I never said it did happen. I say it could have happened. Read things more thoroughly before you post out of your hormone induced urge to seem superior.

That's cute. I like how you need to resort to immature dribble to try to get at me. Has your e-peen inflated large enough yet?

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I look forward to the day I can fall from orbit and live on my own.

The thing is, nothing about hardlight is explained in game; while i appreciate what 343 tried to do with the EU, but making extensive knowledge of the books required for the plot to make sense ESPECIALLY when the plot point in question could easy have been resolved (make chief throw the damn bomb and show the hard light wrap around him(and actually mention hardlight a few levels back0) is just absurd.

Your hay day may come, my friend! The military at present is considering the idea of beginning an orbital deployment program.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Why was the Composer on/near a Halo? A superweapon placed on/near a superweapon is pretty stupid.

Where do I sign!? I'll be the first to drop from orbit. I'm worried about being cooked to death though. :D

Just break into the Pentagon and demand enrollment! It'll show your dedication and no fear attitude, there's no WAY they could say no!

Although hardlight specifically isn't explained in the game, many other things are, including the Forerunner-Human War (at a basic level of understanding). People have to resort to terminals to find out more, which I find a reasonably rewarding experience.

They still do mention hardlight in the description of the Forerunner weapons, if I recall correctly.

I'm assuming you're referring to Halo 2?
Anti-matter charge =/= Conventional explosives. And IIRC location/impact of detonation was different.

As I said just moments ago: Of course not. But it's trolling if the same answered arguments are being repeated by a single user, as I have seen.

Of course the Terminals themselves don't make sense of the Forerunner Saga though.

Oh wait.........

The Chief inserted a bomb comparable to a nuclear warhead inside the Carrier, then blew it up. That makes sense.

In Halo 4 the Chief launched a little archer missile at the Cruiser and blew up the whole ship, disintegrating it. That doesn't make any sense at all.
