KOTOR

I'm not from the 70s or 80s, but I dig some of the early British metal groups.

Because...

opinions?

No no no, there are no opinions on the flood, just mindless bandwagonning and hive-mind ways of thinking.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

What comes to mind when I think of Modern Rock
That's called pop, dumbass.

Somebody poop in your evening coffee?

I said that is what comes to mind. You're not helping your cause anyway. You're just being a dick.
You're not very bright, are you?

I don't understand what it is that I have done wrong here. I said "This is what comes to mind."

How is that wrong? It doesn't remotely matter if it's the quintessential epitome of modern Rock, because it's the impression I have received from mainstream media, and I was not remotely trying to argue that classic rock is superior to modern rock.

I was simply explaining why I still listen to classic rock and metal by showing an example of what comes to mind when I think of modern rock.

What you -blam!-s have done here is like asking a guy why he likes pickles, letting him answer the question, and then telling him he's wrong.

I lol'd when I seen this too.

OT; Music has changed a lot over the decades. The newer stuff these days is more directed to the beat, which is great for partying and whatnot, but everyone got different taste. I like all types of music depending on my mood but the majority of the time I can always enjoy some classic rock.

Even then, Taylor Swift is considered Country Pop.

Let's all just be happy! Doesn't that sound like fun?

Yay!

Classic Rock usually has a passion behind it. There's more effort, more love and more sweat from older bands, because they were in a time that was hard.

One time I asked my dad what made the Rolling Stones so good. He said they put a lot more passion into their music, made it more unique and made it more enjoyable. That music was more driven, and had more behind it, because of the war. I personally love the Rolling Stones, The Doors, and other older bands, and I like Jazz (play it to be quite honest), all kinds of Electronica, a little bit of metal, a little bit of rap... Lots of Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Music is very objective and opinion based. You can't begin to judge someone's taste in music until you're that person.

"I am an enforcer man! Don't nothin' go down in my house! This 100% heart baby! Sure, I check a few fools. I give em the pain! But sometimes its about intimidation, though. It's mind games."
-Terry Tate, Office Linebacker

Well Metal isn't inherently bad, and there is some decent/good dadrock.

But only listening to those genres is pleb city.

Because the Music back then felt more like an artistic creation of several talented musicians and writers coming together to create something they loved rather than some guy on a PC making the sound you have when you get an error message...

That being said, and I stand by this, if that's your favourite type of music to each their own, fair enough, not going to say I understand it, but I don't need to, that's the beauty of opinions.
