I must admit that in Halo PC, there are more racist, homophobic jackasses than in most online games. All online games are going to have retards who try to be as horrible as they can to ruin your gaming experience, really, some more than others, but you can't stop Timmy Pottymouth and his buddies Johnny Homophobe and Jack Tourettes.
However, if you think Halo PC is bad, go play Halo 2 on Xbox Live. The PC crowd tends to be older, more intelligent, so you'll find PC games to have a much more mature community. Because of all the knowledge it takes to know about computers and PC gaming, most PC folks have the prerequisite knowledge required to run and play PC games. Also, computers are more expensive than consoles, so you have to save up a lot of allowance or have a job to get a good PC.
With the Xbox, however, it doesn't take much brainpower or money to buy the console, a copy of a game, a headset, and a subscription to Xbox Live. Because of its simplicity (a good thing turned bad) it draws many of the younger crowd. I'm not saying that there aren't immature asswipes in PC games, or that all the gamers on Xbox Live are spoiled, rude, obnoxious brats. I play with a friend on Xbox Live, and he's very mature for his age, and he's got a good attitude and plays for fun, and he's under the age of ten. Unfortunately for every good, polite person you meet on Xbox Live you're going to meet a bunch of misogynistic, homophobic, annoying, obnoxious -blam!-s whose sole purpose in life is to teabag your body and spew profanities about you and your mother.
Blame Gearbox for forgetting to put in a straight forward kicking/banning system in HPC, which allows all the teamkilling retards to go around betraying as they please.
Good point...it does take alot more brains to run a computer (i'd know). But think about it. Almost everyone in America owns some kind of PC. Now days most of them being P4's with 1.6 to 2.4 ghz and a fairly good video card. And also more and more kids are using computers. Though they might be stupid dimrods who know nothing about hardware and every 5 seconds they need help with something when it could be fixed in 5 seconds with about three mouse clicks. But the thing is kids can easly go on there parents computer and play a game (halo). And because more people own PC's than X-boxes there could be more people playing Halo pc than x-box live. And x-box only owns about 25% of the video game market. Plus most parents wouldn't want to pay for X-box live, but they pay for internet because its a nesesity these days.
So even though most kids can't own a PC and take care of it, it doesn't take much brains to ask mommy if you can go on the computer pop in a CD and then start shooting things.
And just to stat my opinion on the topic. Most people who play halo PC are back stabing little ass wipes. every time you join a game you will at least find one (if not more) fude betwean two people on the same team over the sniper rifle. About falf of my deaths on blood gulch have been from people killing me for the sniper rifle. Thats why I only play the CE version. The onnly people playing there are dedicated Halo fans...usualy
