MLG is a scum organization.

I hope their playlist fails so that they never pollute Halo with their garbage again.
Halo can't get much worse I mean it already has no skill gap and a formula based on luck.

Halo got better when the MLG crowd left.

Competitive gaming is s detriment and Bravo needs to go before he destroys H4.
That's a pretty cowardly sentiment. Are you so scared of competitive gaming that you believe that a single man will destroy everything you hold dear?
You underestimate how bad panda rings can be when they only please 1% of the population.
Unfortunately for you the popular decision is not always the right decision. If every single decision we made was made with the intent of pleasing the majority, then society would be in shambles.

"I don't like paying The Man money!" shouted the people. And thus, taxes were eliminated, and unable to fund itself, the goverment collapses.

Hyperbole aside, try looking a little farther than yourself. One of Halo's past strengths was it's abillity to cater to a wide variety of people. If I want to play BUNGLE and screw around with Spikers and Mancannons that shoot you off cliffs, I can do that for an afternoon. If I want depth of gameplay that rewards our actions as individuals and as a team, that should be a feature as well.

Dammit Hylebos, stop arguing for everyone to stop digging their trenches and lobbing one liners at each other, come together and embrace each other on the middle ground.

I can understand having to think beyond yourself for this kind of thing, and i am all for that.I have to ask you though if there are the same dangers if you appeal to the competitive crowd exclusively as may or may not of been the case in Halo 4.( never having a chance to play it online due to a lack of a gold subscription i can not say whether it does or not)All i ask when making suggestions to improve the game is that you take both sides into account and do not favor one side over the other.

I seem to do well consistently enough. If it was all luck then how do I go positive almost every game while others don't?

Anyway, I have fun with it. I'm not getting paid to play so I'm not worried if there is a huge 'skill gap'. I'll let you pros decide that stuff.

Vehicle combat is also still broken/imba.

Same with the weapon sandbox.

You should make a new account with a different name.

Of course there are dangers in catering exclusively to hardcore gamers. You might have a deep game, but if that game can't convey itself very well to new players and encourage them to invest themselves into your world and game, then your game isn't going to have very many players, and will probably remain a cult classic.

See Dark Souls as an example. Beautiful, beautiful game, one of the best I've played in years, love it to tears. However, I had to look up what all the stats did when I started out, and to this day I still don't know what all the different Covenants do, and the user interface just does a poor job conveying to you what everything means. It's still a great and deep game, the balance between getting players into the game and keeping players in the game is wack.

All i ask when making suggestions to improve the game is that you take both sides into account and do not favor one side over the other.I try to never blindly favor one side over the other, however, for the most part I'm going to argue in favor for the hardcore players. It's the harder of the two tasks, as evident by the unfortunate standard set by most modern games.

Once that hardcore foundation is set, it's much easier to include features that will attract players into the game and ease them into investing themselves into your game and turn them from casual gamers to fans and hardcore gamers.

Fair enough

Dam you Hylebos, stop making so much sense i was hoping to debate with you without needing to troll but you have good reasons....

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

I won't play Halo until they bring in Ranked/Social, playing with friends is impossible right now.

  • 12.25.2012 12:29 AM PDT

If I ever see anyone post in a thread "That's your opinion", I immediately lose all respect for them.

Also, if you're discussing a topic with me and you resort to name calling, pull "life checks", or just call anything you don't agree with retarded without giving legitimate reasons, don't expect me to take you serious in anyway what so ever.

I can't wait for them to add the MLG playlist, ranks, or whatever else people need for them to justify them playing a game they can't stand.

He can get a letter that may say "You are fired" simple as that. Don't worship someone who haven't done anything yet for Halo 4. He is just getting informed on what he needs to do and what not and what can.

There already is a ranking system. You rank up, don't you?

(I am serious)

The current system is a progression system. You progress through levels by earning points. It does not measure skill.

Please stop trying to grasp what little hope there is for Halo 4 the game is a fail, I don't care how many remakes they do its awful.

I disagree, I think H4 has massive potential and will only get better.

I heard someone say once (paraphrasing here) "Multiflag on Blood Gulch with your friends is what makes Halo, Halo." I GUARANTEE that more people agree with that sentiment than "Getting a 50 in MLG is what makes Halo, Halo." - Oboewan42

No I won't support this stupidity. The focus on arena style play is moronic, I miss the objective vehicular based Halo that was the definition of Halo epicness. But alas, it's being phased out by all the pro arena tryhards.

I will play the MLG playlist as long as it doesn't become like it did in Halo: Reach. In which it was so different from the standard game that I would have had to completely relearn how to play. Other than that I do support a balanced Halo.

Is it? 343 ruined the BTB modes all on their own, carry on supporting them and hating us because it's clearly working out.
