The bible is the best book Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I AM A PROUD CHRISTIAN. HALO IS AWESOME BUT GOD IS MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!
Did you knew that JESUSdied for you?

Google the difference between possible and possiblity.

Imortality is not possible today and have yet to see proof that it will eve be. Even in star trek people get old...

Prove to me immortality is possible otherwise you are only asking me to have faith on some discovery channel documentray you vaguely remember...

Now that BS then nothing is impossible because it hasn't been "achived yet"

Imortality isn't a reality so deal with it.

Flight was't possible until flying machines were invented. Tell ponce de leon that immortality is "possible"

Teleportation is also possible under that defimition amd I call Bs on that.

You can't call something possible until it is achieved? Tell that to Werner von Braun. He knew space flight was possible from his knowledge of physics and science. After building the V2 rockets, he practically built the US space program from hardly anything.

Me posting proof of a human becoming immortal is like giving you proof in 1950 of the lunar landings. You know it could very well happen based upon what is already known to science, but it hasn't happened yet.

Also, you are right, old age isn't the only cause of death. But isn't getting shot in the head the same thing as dying of old age when it comes down to the definition of death? It is like crashing a car and then having another car sit in water for 50 years. The gears stop turning. Either way the human body is immobile and the brain cells are slowly disintegrating.

Oh, and in case that wasn't what you meant by your statement, let me add more. A person can plan to shoot a specific person. They can also run into a room with a shotgun and fire upon several complete strangers and kill them in a complete coincidence. You can't derive "fate" or "destiny" from that.

You don't understand what I am saying.

We can know things are possible before they are done because of what we ALREADY KNOW. That has nothing to do with everything being possible. If I had the knowledge I could give you some sort of extremely long explanation of how the effects of gravity vs the propulsion of burning fuel in a rocket could send an object out of the atmosphere. All I would need for that is the mathematical information, which Werner von Braun would have had before he launched his first rocket into space.

Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

Death is scientific though.

I don't need to think about death. I would like to know my fate in regards to my future. Hope it's a good one.

Maybe it would help here if we replaced the word 'fate' with 'determinism', and those who aren't familiar with the term have themselves a quick read on wikipedia.

Really.

An eventual end to all things is the ultimate fate, but fate has no control on what happens between two points.

  • 12.24.2012 11:47 PM PDT

One does not simply trolololol into Mordor.

That's not fate that's just the inevitable end of a living thing's life. Fate is more like what you do in your life.

I am not going to quote that massive rant wall.

You want proof of the possibility of stopping death from old age?

here

here

These and other articles like them were all over the Flood the past few weeks.

Oh, and the fact you made a moronic comment in reference to Star Trek now makes you seem a bit stupid. Just saying.

1.It has yet to be achived in humans as a viable solution. Again google the difference between possible and possibility. Just like teleporters are.

2.- old age isn't the only source of death. Ilness/ accidents and murders kill people too.Just becuase you don't consider murder as a cause pf death it means it isn't.

3 You only posted possible evidence to stop aging. You have yet to prove that death can be stopped.

Eternal youth=\= imortality.

I don't regret my star trek reference so deal with it.

Be sure to tell everyone how cool you are. If you don't tell them, they won't know.

Prove it.

  • 12.25.2012 12:20 AM PDT

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.
~M.D~

I'm a strong believer of fate :)

*you're* the one making the initial claim, which has been refuted. burden of proof is on you, buddy. prove that death is absolutely unconquerable or your argument is moot.

Screw that I am not proving that mortals are mortal. There is a concept in logic called presumption. Just like I am not proving that the sun exists

But I can prove it because every human so far regardless of their will on the matter has died. Ergo all humans are mortal.

You prove to me that immortality is achievable.

As of now it is unknown at best if it is possible

Yes you can.

Even if there was one target, the other targets fate was to get caught in the crossfire.

If they survive or not also leads to more roads.
Its like a big spider web that slowly expands into many treelines.

And about cheating death with new cells... Youll eventually die anyway (especially if there are no more cells left to reconfigure). Unless you can provide complete immortality then you can be a husk that can wander around forever when everything else dies off... Or not.

Oh look, another semantics thread.

There's a “U” and “I” in union but just an “I” in my beliefs

Do you watch Naruto, OP?

  • 12.25.2012 9:59 AM PDT

True. Very good you just solved the meaning of life and fate in one foul swoop. Very well done. Has anyone ever said that you should become a philosopher?

  • 12.25.2012 9:59 AM PDT

Who said death will always be inescapable?

Then it just is.

Fate/destiny are always changing or moving.

Sometimes it can also stop and from there you can make your own paths (instead of somewhat being influenced), then again its always there.

Tell that to the OP. He's talking about fate like an absolute.

Don't punch a British kid, the queen'll come after you.

Our current physical understanding of the universe has no room for free will.

  • 12.25.2012 10:14 AM PDT

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” – Psalms 46:1-3

Posted by: BestSpartan117
So you actually think that you have free will uh? That we shape our own destinies, that fate is so "unscientific" and supersticious well let me prove you wrong.

Answer me this: why nobody is able to escape death?

Death is the ultimate fate of all mortal beings.

Ergo fate does exist.

Depending on your personal beliefs.

Death is only the beginning to a very long existence.

  • 12.25.2012 10:15 AM PDT

Blackness Confirmed. You've got soul.

The Ultimate Opinion.

Problem of Induction. Just because every human being ever observed has died, it doesn't necessarily mean every human ever will die.
