I like the apocalyptic setting of it, especially with how they implemented the armed vehicles (I felt like a character in a Mad Max film). I love the wingstick weapon, it's so satisfying. And the mutant cannon fodder are now my favourite enemy of any video game. They're so fun to shoot at. Id did a great job with their animations. It's a shame that it was a tad shorter than I expected, and that ending....wat? Also, I hope that there would have been more to explore, only two villages? And, that there was more open space for vehicle cruising. Overall, very well worth the $10 I spent on it.

I know that there is new DLC for it that is fairly new. Does anyone here have it? If so, how much does it add to the game?

One does not simply trolololol into Mordor.

Oh right I forgot that game existed.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

It's fairly cheap now. Got a new copy (anarchy edition) for $10. It's about 12 hours in length, but that all depends on how you play it. Also, there is an issue with texture popping. I'm not sure if the 360 has it fixed, but I do believe the PC version does need a few tweaks. The PS3 is doomed with it.

I thought it was alright, it felt kind of like Doom 3 did so I guess its kind of dated. Though the driving parts feel really forced in there and unneeded.

Is the driving manageable?

I won't buy a new copy, game's not a keeper. I've played a lot of games, even ones people wouldn't touch...If I don't play it I won't judge it.

It felt easy to do for me, just kind of pointless. Its main use is basically to get to new areas unless you want to do all the side races which aren't tough.

The gameplay all felt fine it just was done poorly, mainly because of the story.

I agree. The racing component was a bit boring, so I was surprised to see that it was the only thing included in the competitive multiplayer. However, the single player and legends are incredibly fun, and strangely replayable despite the monotony and overall lack of variety. Rage was the first game in a while that gave me an experience akin to FPS games before the multiplayer era, and I thank id for that. I'm really hoping a sequel isn't too far off, because it could have been a AAA title if some tweaks were made. If it's going to be a while, at least Doom 4 is confirmed to be in development. :3

I had a fair few problems with that game, first off the aiming and shooting just felt numb, I can't really explain it better than that, it just seemed unresponsive, secondly the story was boring though I admit that's not what you're playing it for, but last of all, there was no damn autosave, I won't apologise for this, not having it just means I have to stop the action every few minutes and completely ruin the flow of gameplay or have to redo everything when I die...

Still have it though, maybe I'll get back to it eventually and it'll change my mind.

It is a good game, without a doubt. It takes a while to get into it though and it does lack some re-playability. However you can get it very cheap nowadays so I'd recommend it.

This. While I seen a lot of genuine criticisms, you can pick apart many other games the same way. I'll use Borderlands as an example (the first, because I haven't played the sequel yet): There is little enemy variety, the game deceives you into thinking it's huge, but actually just has moderately large areas that aren't all that interesting (Rage is similar in this respect), and one of the strongest aspects, the weapon generation system, is no better than that in Diablo II.

The thing is, I actually enjoyed Borderlands, but I was being critical of it in the same way I see a lot of people being critical of Rage. I think it serves as a good example, because if Rage can be portrayed as a shallow game, so can a highly-praised game like Borderlands.
