Subject: What happens if...

I persist too long after my own defeat,
Yet I still press forward, staggering on my feet.
But I know that my resolution will be my end.
And once I fall, I shall ruefully transcend.

Unless it's a tuna or something, it would probably just freeze.
But a tuna... a tuna indeed.

Not even if it were a tuna.
I don't know how making this hypothetical fish a Tuna would change anything.

Like it was stated before, when in space, the blood boils, therefore any animal is liable to exploding.

It appears the OP lacks understanding that the "O" in H2O is not enough for a fish to incorporate into the process of respiration. In fact, oxygen as a singular atom is exceptionally reactive and does not exist in nature. It only subsides as O2. With absence of oxygen (O2), a fish will die.

A tuna?

Unsuccessfully trying to bring science and reason to The Flood...

Things don't 'implode' in space because they are air breathing. Fish still have blood. When in the vacuum of space there is a enormous drop in pressure, so much so that the boiling point of blood drops.

This causes your blood to actually boil inside of you, causing you to expand, and consequently explode. The same would happen to a fish.
"You do not explode. Your blood does not boil."

It may not be the thing that kills you, but I reckon that at some point it will happen.

Yes you're right, that's a fact too. OP doesn't know that fish don't specifically breathe water, they extract the oxygen from the water to respire.

Indeed. Just as water molecules are dispersed about an aerated atmosphere, O2 is diffused throughout water as individual molecules amongst the H2O.

Atmospheric exchange between the water and the air above it.

More awesome than a shark high-fiving a bear during an explosion...IN SPACE.

It would implode because there's air inside of it.

Give this man a freaking nobel prize.

Hahahaha, I'm sorry guys, I really couldn't help posting this, I've been studying Quantum physics for the last like 6 hours and I have gone all the way through theoretical quantum mechanics to geometrodynamics and I needed a laugh. You gotta admit, This was pretty damn hilarious. I think most of the responses were lol-worthy.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Fish do breath oxygen, don't they?

  • 12.25.2012 7:49 AM PDT

The water would boil and the fish's blood would boil due to the lack of air the pressure would fall and with it it's boiling point would fall meaning that it would boil. It would die.

But.... fish do need air. They use their gills to like, separate oxygen from the water and sbsorb it or something right?

Oxygen, not air. We extract oxygen from air and fish extract oxygen from water. Not air.

Ya, that is what I just said.

You said that fish need air. They do not need air. You meant oxygen. The gas which you get the oxygen from is not relevant underwater. There is no air in water only oxygen. I think that's what you meant but I just thought that I would clarify that fish extract oxygen from water not oxygen from air from water.
