^ Please don't troll

He's not trolling, he's making a point about your obvious racism. You're willingly ignoring all the implausibilities he mentioned but Santa being black is a big no-no to you.

Please point out to me where the OP is trying to say that any race is better than another because I don't see it. I see him pointing out differences in races and the regions they're from but I don't see any indication of the OP claiming that a race is superior to another.

Racism is a pretty egregious offense on this board that's met with a swift ban. That's not what the OP is doing so please don't throw that term around loosely, thank you.

I am thinking of an old story. "Three Billy Goats Gruff" (hint the troll dies at the end)

He's saying that an imaginary character can't be black. If that's not discrimination then I don't know what is.

I don't think you understand what racism means, because all I've said was he isn't geographically corresponding with a dark complexion.

Further more, I've gone on to debate how society reassigns ethnicity of their heroes, and question how acceptable that is.

Seperate but equal is inherently unequal, like the Supreme Court said. No matter how many times you say "no racism intended", racism is still racism.

If you're saying that "black Santa doesn't make sense", there's no other reason for it to not make sense besides racism.

Nothing about Santa makes sense. Why would it matter if someone wants to picture him as being black? Why wouldn't that make sense?

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” – Psalms 46:1-3

Out of all the pictures of Jesus this is the one I believe, as he actually looks Jewish, my wife and here family are Jewish, well Messianic Jews.

Why is Jesus depicted as white if he's from the Middle East?

He's saying that he doesn't see how an imaginary character can be black. If you'd read his posts, you'd see that he's not being willfully discriminatory.

Again, I'm not saying it's wrong, but it doesn't make any sense for him to be anything but super pale.

I'm not going to argue the silliness of this thread because it is very silly and possibly a ploy for the OP to rustle some yule tide jimmies but I couldn't sit idly by while someone falsely label someone as something very inappropriate.

Edit: And yeah, leave the religious stuff out of this thread, thanks. It's already skirting the line of inappropriateness enough.

Saint nicholas was turkish, santa lives in the artic, neither of the races that come from those places are black, ergo, santa should not be black logically.

He's based on a real person...

In 1000 years from now, if society turns Ghandi into a mythical being that represents peace, should he be white?

Maybe, maybe not.

All I'm saying, is I think we should preserve the ethnicity of our legends, heroes, saviors- Whoever we as a society idolize.

Not only does this help preserve the person, but it helps to create a culture that honors more than just one or two races.

No intent on rustling jimmies here.

That being said, I got what I wanted out of this conversation, and I also learned that Santa is Turkish.. So I guess we should lock this thing before somebody gets too upset.

St. Nick's Day is December 6th.

We have actual photos of Gandhi. We don't have any of Santa. Gandhi is a person. Santa is an idea, even if he is loosely based on a real person. If you want to create a mythical figure that represents peace and love, then that figure can be whatever race the person imagining it wants. And if I was to say that their idea of that figure doesn't "make sense" because of its race, then I deserve to be called a racist bigot, no matter how much I preface it with "not to be racist, but..."

All I'm saying, is I think we should preserve the ethnicity of our legends, heroes, saviors- Whoever we as a society idolize.

Santa Claus isn't a person. He's an idea. Trying to tell people that their ideas have to be a certain race to "make sense" is disgustingly racist and bigoted. How anyone, especially a goddamn mod on the site, can say it isn't is just appalling.

If I remember rightly saint nicholas was Turkish, therefore santa should be tan.

There are tons of Turks who are as white as Europeans.

Trust me on that, there are many Turkish immigrants living here.

Yeah Jesus was middle eastern so I don't know why some people say he's white. Yeah I don't know the exact story of Santa but I do know he was European so yeah he is definitely not black.

He lives in the North Pole and he is magical. Therefore he wouldn't need the extra menalin. If he is natively North Pole which is stupid because no one natively lives there unless they move there, then that doesn't make sense that he should be black. Unless you're saying that a non-existent dude emmigrated to the North Pole and randomly became magical for no reason at all. Otherwise he must be white. I meant non-existent but he would still theoretically be white anyway.

Also Jesus would be Asian not American like in Family Guy. He would have brown skin and he would speak Arabic. Think of it as kind of like the Bible translating his Arabic into Latin and then into English and adding magic to it to make it more whimsical poetic and metaphorical for the sake of the context of the metaphor of the Bible. In reality he would've been Asian but the Bible would say that he is white because way back then it would have been unnaceptable to be non-white because it was a different time back then when people were less accepting. Regardless of whatever religion says, Jesus would really have been Asian but we project because we like to relate to him so we make him look like us.

People don't tend to refer Middle-Easterns as Asians. He wouln't of been speaking Arabic either. Hebrew and/or another language I can't quite remember.

Vinyl Scratch knows how to get the feeling alright
We are going to dance and party tonight
Tonight is the night that we're gonna lose it
So spin that record Vinyl Scratch, and never stop the music.

It's not my fault my parents own the worlds largest collection of black santas.
