It was a good movie! However, aside from the names of the characters, is it really a Batman movie?

inb4 people say "there's a guy in a batsuit so yes it's a batman movie" and miss the point entirely.

What did the characters do that made them different than any other character that could have been created? If the Dark Knight Rises was redone with different names for the characters, and the batsuit didn't look like a bat, would you guys say "Hey, this is a copy of a Batman movie!"

1.) Batman does not fly once

2.) Batman does not use any unique gadgets he's known for (before a dummy says "lolBatPod", if you slightly changed the design it would just be another cool motorcycle

3.) Bane doesn't have an origin remotely similar to the comics. If this wasn't a Batman movie, but Bane looked exactly the same, (with a new name of course) would you guys say "Hey, what a ripoff of Bane!"?

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

You're right. I hate -blam!- Batman movies. This is far better than Batman movies this is Dark Knight movies which is dramatic adaptation of Batman. I far prefer it as well as the rest of the Nolan trilogy.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

There's also a ton of plot holes in it.

He threw spark bombs at Bane in his fight with him. He also turned off the lights later in the fight. Bruce Wayne also turned off all the cameras the camera men had pointed at him when he went to the Charity Ball.

Batman is not about the gadgets, or flying. Batman is a symbol.

He shows that a hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a little boy's shoulders to let him know the world hadn't ended...

*glide
He glide's when going to the lower level of the sewers during the Bane fight.
2.) Batman does not use any unique gadgets he's known for (before a dummy says "lolBatPod", if you slightly changed the design it would just be another cool motorcycleDuring the Bane fight he throws hallucinogens which proved useless.

3.) Bane doesn't have an origin remotely similar to the comics. If this wasn't a Batman movie, but Bane looked exactly the same, (with a new name of course) would you guys say "Hey, what a ripoff of Bane!"?Was ordered to get rid of Batman and break his spirit and body. Seems like Bane to me.

Those aren't anything special to Batman. If some other superhero or action star used those, would you say "Wow copying Batman!"

I could understand the mini grenade things, and MAYBE the camera disabling device. But what action star or other super hero carries a device that turns off the lights in a room? Batman is the only hero that could effectively use that.

If any other action flick used those gadgets, would you say "wow Batman rip off?"

If say Mission Impossible used the camera thing, would your first thought be "Wow they totally copied Batman"

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

It was better than Batman Begins, which I would rate as the most Batman movie of this trilogy, and honestly in my opinion BB was horrible. So to put it straight, how "Batmanish" it is is not completely irrelevant.

Vinyl Scratch knows how to get the feeling alright
We are going to dance and party tonight
Tonight is the night that we're gonna lose it
So spin that record Vinyl Scratch, and never stop the music.

Oh, because if it doesn't hold true to the original, and instead reinvents itself, it is not a true batman movie. Obviously. Because the STORY LINE IN THE COMICS AS WELL AS THE TV SERIES IS SO CONSISTENT AND PRECISE IN ITS DEFINITION OF WHAT BATMAN DOES.

Okay? I already said the movie was good. I was just saying how the movie isn't really Batman like.

Actually I believe your point was you saying that certain things that you decided needed to be in the movie for it to be a "true batman movie"
