Seven7h Squad oooorah!

Have you ever taken a chance to admire the thing about Halo that made it soo unique? Some are very obvious, and some you may just stumble across. Just the little things that showed just how much time and effort went into making this game....
Have you noticed that whenever your looking at the sun and you walk past a tree, you see the rays peek through the branches and it gets all fancy looking. or the lense flare on the HUD whenthe light hits you a certain way. Or when you shoot a weapon on the ground it spins around.
Have you ever taken time to truely admire the scenery? they did a maginficant job with the ring and the sky, it was all crisp and clean, Even the stars twinkeled. I loved how they did all the snow levels. Two Betrayals really gave you that feeling that you get when your all alone, all alone with a purpose and the clock's ticking. just runing acrossed the open field or bridge and seeing the flood and Covenant going at it in small and large scale battles, it was all soo beautiful. everything they put in was just great. Looking at all the different lights through the snow at night n' stuff.... purely amazing. there's a lot more i've missed i'm sure, please let me hear your imput.

Definitely. I remember the first time I played the level Halo. I spent ages just walking around, checking out the sunlight effects and the grass. The grass!

I first played Silent Cartographer when I was but a lad. That was some seriously amazing stuff for me and shaped my life for years to come.

We are those who survive The Aleryon Project

We fought for them, we killed for them. But no more.
We have had our souls stolen from us, Our lives taken.
But no more!
They will pay for whom they have created.
They will pay their debt in blood...

Well, even if you are complaining about the graphics, my card sucks. I mean, totally. I put all my settings on high, and it still doesn't have the same 'quality' of the graphics on my Xbox.
But then again, Halo is much older. It looked really good back then, but is now outshined.

My WOW moment was right after getting off the downed life boat because you have no sense of scale of whoats around you and then the music picks up and you go across that bridge (which i fell off of) That was cool.

What caught my eye most was just how it was all set out, how amazingly well it played, and how it looked so much better than anything else at the time graphics wise. I think Halo was the best shooter since Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on the N64. Seriously.

I played it my cousin's...

Anyway, it was the first chapter of the Pillar Of Autumn, the crewman looked so real to me, even if his face was static...

I remember the beauty of the Assault Rifle, the Needler and the second level; they have stayed in my mind forever. Battle Creek truly amazed me, I don't know why seeing as how it was a really small map, probably cause it was the first map I played on and the first map I kicked ass in mutliplayer in.

Looking back on it, it was actually quite a small game with only a few weapons in total, and some scattered things that didn't make a lot of sense, but it is quite possibly the greatest FPS I've ever played; it easily knocks DOOM from first place.

I really didn't appreciate the level of detail until we got a 360 and a hi-def TV. OMG I never noticed the trenching shovel on the fender of the Scorpion! I finally got to read the bulletin board on the bridge myself!

The coolest cutscene I think is the pelican going down the hatch at the end of silent Cartographer. The level of detail is amazing. Not photographic, but photorealistic - it has a clearly hand-drawn feel. The artwork in the original is AMAZING. It reminds me of some of those concept drawings that architects render for new developments. Sort of drafted, with high detail, except for the foliage, you know what I mean.

The change to the darker color palette in H2 really hurt. Some of the surface textures (esp. forerunner etchings) in H2 didn't seem to have the same level of detail as H1.

Things that stand out in my mind are:

* The shafts of light in the Library core...
* The level of detail in the Control Room...
* Try flying a Banshee slowly in sync with the hologram of the ring...
* The cicadas in the trees around the Security Center in Silent Cartographer.
* Snow driving down in the twilight in Two Betrayals - Check around floodlights

You know, I appreciate the need to pop eyes with increasingly realistic graphics as a new generation of game console arrives in the marketplace, but I still think that there's room for games like Halo that have an artistic ambiance. Maybe that's something for Bungie to consider with future titles. Oh heck, what do I know, I like the cell-shaded style in XIII.

What was amusing and i still do it today is how everything was bouncy..... just shoot at a weapon or a hog with a rocket or grenade to know what i am talking about.

Halo through the world offgaurd by making the flood . I mean I was suprised I didn't think the game would go that way but it did . That made the whole story possible . That solved questions like What is Halo. I will always play the Pillar and the MAw without getting bored.
