Subject: Bose or Sennheiser?

Hey guys, I am planning on buying new headphones on Boxing Day, and I was wondering what headphones I should go for. My choices are the Bose QC3 headphones or the Sennheiser HD 598 headphones. These are my ONLY choices.

I plan on using my headphones just with an iPod while on plane rides, car rides, casual listening at home etc.

What do you think?

''Hell is other people.''

I'd go for Sennheiser. I have a nice pair that work perfectly with my Guitar amp, and even for my T.V. Everything sounds really clear.

Why are those your only choices? I'd recommend Audio-Technica ATH-M50s.

Because I want something I can wear in public without being so bulky and unappealing.

I'd go for the Sennheiser. I don't know much about headphone brands, but from those pictures, I can see that Sennheiser cover your ear, while Bose sit on your ear.

Not only do ear covering headphones cancel out most of the outside sound, making them better for music, they are also more comfortable.

That particular model of Bose Headphones actually has technology that cancels out background noise.

This is a difficult question OP. I have a friend who swears by his QC3s but unless you try them you can't really judge them.

The HD 598s are quite well known for having nice all around balanced sounds with nice mids. Some people say they lack bass but others say it's just right.

Sorry I can't help much more.
