I have to wait 2 days for the deliver guy to come!

I have a few questions about the Galaxy S3 ( I used to have a iphone 3GS):

Does Galaxy has some kind of appstore?
Can you jailbreak the galaxy without problems like the iphone?
How does the phone feel?
Does the galaxy has some kind of cydia?
Does the phone breaks fast?
Does android has the same amount of apps like apple?

  • 12.25.2012 12:50 PM PDT

Shouldn't you have asked these questions before you purchased the phone?

  • 12.25.2012 12:53 PM PDT

Should have gone with the Iphone 5...

Thinner
Lighter
Faster
More Durable

Please do not send me group invites.

-Yes, the Google Play store
-Yes [rooting, not jailbreaking]
-Awesome
-No. You can download app .apk files from anywhere, though.
-Only if you're irresponsible, just like any other phone
-No. The Apple App Store has marginally more apps. 700k vs 800k. You'll be hard-pressed to NOT find an Android equivalent of an Apple app.

I have an iPhone 4S but I'll answer some of the questions...

The Galaxy S3 is an Android device, you can buy apps for free and for money, just like iPhone, on the play store.

The phone feels great. A bit big in my opinion.

Look up some drop tests on YouTube if you'd like to see how durable it is.

The Android Play Store currently (2012) hasn't got as many apps as Apple's iTunes App Store which currently has nearly 800,000 apps. You'll be able to find all your main apps, I'd assume, on the Android Play Store as well.

It's the same width as the 4S, yet it's like an extra 2cm longer. It's horrible looking.

I love you

I'm typing this from my GS3 right now. I just got it yesterday, and haven't put it down.

The phone has a beautiful display and camera, and is really quick. The Play store isn't as good as the Apple App Store, but it still has the big and popular apps that IOS has.

The music selection on the Google Play Store is also worse than IOS. It has the popular artists, but if you listen to artists that aren't as well known, there's a big chance they won't have the artist.

There is a sort of "jail breaking" feature on them, but I'm not too familiar with it.

The only problem I've had is my battery life. I use it a lot, so I had to put it in power save mode. Not too big of a problem, but it dims the screen on darker websites (like here) and makes back light turn off after about 10 seconds.

Overall, it's a good phone and I think you made a good purchase.

As far as the apps are concerned, Google play will usually get the big ones as well, although sometimes you have to wait up to six months for it.

So you download it on your S3 with the browser on the phone?

Like you type in for example: Faceswap it costs lets say 5 bucks on play store. So you type in on your S3 browser Faceswap.apk free download. And then you can download it somewhere like media fire or something?

Yeah you can go to the Google Play store online which should be connected to your Google account, look up an app there, and you can have it automatically downloaded to your phone.
