When you ''root'' your phone do you get those themes for free?
And what does rooting do with your phone?
Yes, you can get any theme for free. What rooting does is it gives you administrator rights to all of the root files and processes on your phone. This allows you to do things like overclock your CPU, put in custom ROMs and UIs, use mobile hotspot for free, and many other things. The amount of things you can do is limited only by your hardware, and not by the restrictions that Google implemented.
And also free apps?
I am trying to find a simple explantion on what rooting exactly does. Like i dont know what overclocking cpu exactly does and custom ROMs??what??? UIs??? mobile hotspots??
And if you root can you still use your lets say T-mobile subscription? Like you pay 40 bucks a month for calling and sms and all that you know.
Alright I'll try to explain this in simple terms. But no, you can't get apps for free that would otherwise cost money, but most apps are already free.
What overclocking does is it basically runs your processor at a higher frequency (frequency as in how many processes it can handle every second) so that you get more power out of it. It can be likened to installing a supercharger in your engine. A ROM is basically your operating system. When you root your phone, you can get a custom ROM installed to make your OS look different. The reason why you would want a custom ROM is because a lot of the stock ROMs have a lot of garbage in them. Custom ROMs optimize a lot of things to make your phone run better. You also get updates faster through custom ROMs since because it is created by an individual, they can release updates much quicker than what a stock ROM would because they don't have to go through the bureaucracy of Google and your provider. If they see a problem with their ROM, they will write new code and send it out possibly the next day, instead of the next few months like you would expect with a stock ROM.
A UI is the "user interface," and is basically synonymous with ROM. The UI is the face of the ROM. It's what you touch. The ROM is the heart, and the UI is the face.
A mobile hotspot is something that you can use to turn your phone into a mobile wifi station. It uses your phone's network capabilities to send the internet to other devices via wifi. Usually you have to pay an extra $10 a month or so to use this "legally," but rooting your phone can bypass your provider's restrictions. However I think a lot of providers have implemented fail-safes in their network that can catch people doing this, so I'm not so sure how well it would actually work.
You can still use your subscription. Rooting doesn't mess with your subscription, only the internal processes of your phone.
