"There's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I'd like to think that I walk that line every day."

I just started the game (made it to the sewers), and I recall seeing a tutorial notice that said lethal and non-lethal approaches to the game will alter the game's ending.

I like to be the good guy, but so far I've managed to kill a good amount of guards (left some in the shadows, unconscious, too).
Without spoiling anything, could someone who finished the game tell me to what extent killing guards affects the ending?

Is it like the first Bioshock, where only one "mistake" (so to speak) will alter the ending?

A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal.

And from FOX, two phantoms were born.

The more people you kill, the more rats and weepers there are over the course of the game.

Basically if you finish the game on high chaos you get a really grim downer ending.

IDK, as long as you dont kill your targets and keep a low profile you should be fine

I suppose I should just play the game naturally and earn what I sow.

What sort of chaos are you on so far? At the end of every mission you get a rating of your stats and stuff and it says what level of chaos you are at. As long as you don't get too bloodthirsty you should be fine.

If you kill, the possible endings radically change yes.

No. It just depends on if you end the game with a high or low chaos rating, which you see at the end of every mission at the stats screen. If you kill more than a couple people it'll go up.

Non-lethal is much more challenging anyway.

I would try to avoid people, dont worry about not alerting the guards as much as long as you dont kill them and keep your targets alive

Playing the game with nothing but Blink is fun too.

I did it for the achievement. Pissed me off because I did it and the non-kill game in one playthrough. Turned out doing Granny's mission counts as kills so that achievement didn't count, and upgrading your Blink ability counts against the 'get no upgrades other than Blink' achievement.

Twas frustrating.
