Which of these two strategists would win in a fairly even battle?

Alexander was unstoppable. The Macedonian couldn't be beat

Caesar for sure

What actually transpires beneath the veil of an event horizon? Decent people shouldn't think too much about that.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Caesar. After all, there is a salad named after him.

Julius Caesar wasn't even all that great, especially compared to Alexander.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

I'd wager Alexander would be more committed to the fight, Caeser basically did military service to pay off his debt, Alexander wanted to conquer.

Caesar for sure

Alexander fought much tougher battles. A lot of his were unfair in numbers, with the enemy having more troops than him.

And, if I'm not mistaken, he never lost a battle, period.

Alexander the Great conquered all of the known world. Caesar simply led a few military expeditions and then seized control of Roman. Alexander the Great would destroy him.

Old School

Julius would know Alex's strategies

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

Alexander cut a swath through countries, taking control quickly but not reinforcing his power. Alexander had to return to his previously "conquered" lands to put down rebellions because the puppet leaders he put in charge were already resisting his control. After his death, his generals spent the rest of their life not just fighting each other, but fighting uprisings and more importantly doing everything possible to justify their right to rule as leader and their right to rule that land.

Had he not died so early, Alexander would have been seen as a failed conqueror.
