Subject: Dark Souls is anyone else having trouble with the game?

Baton courtesy; service with a smile

Hey guys I just wanted to ask is anyone else getting their ass kicked on Dark Souls. That game is ridiculously hard. The furthest I have gotten was the valley of Drakes and well at level 16 they completely wiped the floor with my ass lol. So how did everyone else make it past all that crap.

Well... don't go into the Valley of drakes for another forty levels or so. That'll help. You're way too early.

Go to other places.

well where should I go. I can't seem to defeat the capra demon or the damn bell tower gargoyles. I kill one but then the other kills me. I killed multiple humans who were just hanging around just for their armor and weapons and yet the damn gargoyles and capra demon are whopping my ass any hints or tips? to be honest this is the only game I have not beaten yet and it pisses me off lol

The Wonderful LeSieg!

Everyone has trouble with this game, that's part of the charm. If you can play through the first ten or fifteen hours, you'll adjust to the difficulty and pretty much be able to get through the game with more trial and less error.

Well if you killed NPCs for 'armor and weapons' then you just deprived yourself of a lot of things you could get later.

Also, so you know you're not even 1/10th of the way through the game if you haven't even beaten the Gargoyle or Capra Demon yet.

... Keep trying to win. Or restart since you -blam!- up and killed NPCs that are helpful later. Meh.

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

Major props to my hommie Sheeef. He made Recon possible for me. Long time recovering emails and passwords. And it was his. lol.

I gave up on that game maybe like 8% of the way through.

♠The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's friend's enemy♠

A good strategy for the capra demon is by running past him at the beginning of the fight and getting to the top of the stairs in the back, from there there's a ledge you can get on top of (it's a sort of safe spot). Kill those annoying dogs first, from there you can deal with the demon himself, which is easier that fighting him with those bloody dogs.

Anyway, just keep trying, and mix things up. For the gargoyles, you an summon Solaire the Snbro if you're human.

For the bell gargoyles, if you turn human at the bonfire, you can summon an NPC that's right outside the boss door. He can at least distract one gargoyle while you deal with the other one. The second gargoyle only comes into the fight if the first one's health bar goes down half way.

For bell gargoyles there are two people you can summon. If you go human using humanity you can summon Solaire and Lautrec if you rescued him. To rescue lautrec you just follow a path by where you fought the channeler and the like 10 hollows. If you summon both Solaire and Lautrec the gargoyles are beyond easy.

Yeah, the game rocked my socks pretty hard early on.
You learn how to play pretty quickly, though, and once you're many hours in you'll be able to cruise through any new playthrough.

Signatures are for little kids.

If you're having troble killing a boss put your summon sign down near that boss fight and help others beat that boss first.

That will get you a humanity as well as get you used to fighting that boss.

Then you can use that humanity and hopefully find someone to help you in your boss fights.. unless someone invades you and kills you.

Stick with it, there is no game more rewarding. I'm fighting my way to the Dukes Archives on second playthrough so I can play the DLC (I'm level 107 or something like that).

Valley of the drakes isn't even necessary, unless you want the red tearstone ring to make a glass cannon build.

I plat'd Demon's Souls. Dark Souls is cake. It's not even difficult... as long as you don't do anything stupid.

Dark Souls wiki will be your bible.
Restart as the Pyromancer and NEVER kill friendly NPCs.
If you have trouble with bosses restore to humanity and summon phantoms to help.

Read up on wiki if you ever don't understand anything, you need to learn how to use pyromancies and need to learn about upgrading weapons and stuff.

I wish they'd make a 360 version of Demon's Souls.

Almost makes me want to try to make some room for a PS3 amid all the cables and DVD players and Wii and all that other crap I have everywhere in my house.

The tag line of the game is "PREPARE TO DIE."

Think strategically, if you can't get somewhere try going another way. Level up. Look around. Be careful and master parrying.
