I keep hearing about it on here and it seems like a game that isn't simplified and doesn't hold your hand the entire time.Is this true or is just like every other game?

  • 12.25.2012 3:24 PM PDT

Well, I've been economical with the truth.

Since when does every other game 'hold my hand'?

  • 12.25.2012 3:25 PM PDT

I heard it's for hardcore players

He threw down a glove you made the mistake
Of picking it up now you're gone
The choosing of guns or fighting with swords
The choice of weapons is done
He'll tear you apart as soon as you start
You know you don't have a chance.

Dark Souls is like a giant sledgehammer hitting you all the time.

Baton courtesy; service with a smile

Insanity:doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

That is this game it is insane. It pisses me off though lol

Proud Spartan II, COG soldier, Hero of time, and crowbar wielding scientist.

Do you know absolutely nothing about this game? Because I sounds like your pretending not to.

On the off chance you have no idea what it is, watch a trailer or two. It's a difficult game that "doesn't hold your hand", but it doesn't cheat to make itself hard. It's simply challenging. And requires skill to master, and when you actually do, then it's easy.

You have been sent a warning from x Foman123 x. This warning's text is below:
Incomprehensible gibberish.

You literally get no hints for 90% of what you need to do. Along with that, you can't speed through or slash randomly through enemies.

I definitely believe every wildly inflated claim ITT.

Weow kid, do you even lift?

I found it -blam!- difficult. It's definitely one of the harder games I've played

The world is not beautiful: And that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

~Kino's Journey

It's a learning experience, 99% of the time you die it's because you didn't pay attention/think things through/learn the enemy's moves.

What are these first person words you speak of?

Dark Souls is great is basically all terms except trying to find your friends. That is, quite literally, the only "issue" teh puma has with the game.

Other than that, it's perfect. It doesn't hold your hand in the least bit, OP. Go for eet.

That isn't an issue though. That's a feature. They deliberately try to stop you from ever communicating or playing with friends. You're supposed to feel alone.

Teh puma would like to say that only some people have an experience like that. He has a certain friend, who has gotten through the fortress multiple times, but ALWAYS has trouble with it.

Some people nail it, some people take time with it, some people can complete things but always have trouble with it. Teh puma doesn't know why, they just do.

Or you could be invaded by someone.

You know what's even worse?

When the boy you like has a girlfriend.
#gheyworldproblems

Doesn't the game essentially boil down to "die a bunch of times to figure out this monster/boss's pattern then kill it with ease"?

It's a really great game, and no, it doesn't hold your hand in the slightest.

Teh puma already understands this mumbojumbo, burrito. That is why he labeled it as his own issue with it, hell he even put it in -->""<-- these little guys because he didn't want it to be taken literally.

I'm your biggest fan!

Stopped playing about half an hour after the Taurus Demon.

Sure, the game's "not for casual nubs" and all that crap, but if you get over that little novelty then it's actually a pretty dull game. If it wasn't so difficult, it wouldn't be very interesting at all.

Not much credibility, since it's coming from someone who has played it for a grand total of 45-60 minutes.

The story and lore behind it is quite extensive.

dark souls is hard and rewarding. no hand holding.

  • 12.25.2012 3:49 PM PDT

I here about it every ten minutes so it must have something going for it.

Sounds like paradise.

Not like Halo:

-every Elite behaves the same. Their only difference is their weapon and armor and increased response rates
-every Knight behaves the same. Their only difference is their weapon, armor, increased response rates, AAs, and a special ability

It's been like this since Halo 2...

Elite Major: the basis for pretty much every Elite rank in that game
Elite Ultra: based on Major, style = berserking
Elite Ranger: based on Major, style = flying and jumping
Elite Zealot: based on Major, style = can't use vehicles, seek cover sooner than other Elites
Elite Spec Ops: based on Major, style = throwing grenades
Elite Honor Guard: reskinned Major
Elite Councilor: reskinned Ultra
Elite Stealth: based on Minor, style = sneaky

See, hardly any variety. Of course, they were still more enjoyable than the ones in Halo 4.

I just would go with friends in private chat and have a playthrough dedicated to coop with them and I was able to play with them easily, it could be easier but if you know what you are doing it isn't too hard to pull it off.

I spent longer on it than that. I'm not very good at games. As sure as I am that the lore and plot are good, if it did little more than an opening cutscene and then maybe fifty words of dialogue after that in the first "45-60" minutes, you can't really blame people for losing interest if it doesn't hook them.
