While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.
Dark Souls isn't particularly difficult, especially with practice. It's very easy with a game guide. However, if you choose not to use a guide, the game will force to to experiment, to find what works through trial and error... and many, many deaths. I've experimented with it and used guides for parts I just couldn't grasp. It is quite fun either way. If you're just passing time trying to have some fun, use a guide. If you want to think and figure things out, mash buttons, walk through seemingly endless mazes, and die... until you figure out how not to.
Also, each area is very distinct and interesting. If you like exploring, and don't care at all about beating the game or dying thousands of times, you can just sprint around seeing how far you can get and enjoying the scenery.
