Let's clarify some things right now:
> I assume you have a 1st gen Xbox 360
> The Xbox Slim is a new model of Xbox
> As it is a new model, the hard drive is of a different shape, and is inserted into the bottom of the console rather than slid into place along the top.
> Microsoft releases the 4gb console for a cheaper price because it is undoubtedly not big enough to last for long. I have 16gb usb flash drives a fraction of the size
> Therefore, you will need to buy a hard drive with larger memory
> If you want to transfer all the data from your previous hard drive (1st gen) into your new one (2nd gen) you will need to buy a separate cable that does this.
EDIT: As those before me have mentioned, yes, you can disassemble it, but based off what I'd seen so far you didn't seem like the type to do that. I invite you to try.
