There are very, very, very few homicides committed on people who have no criminal involvement, and most of those are crimes of passion.
I'm not terribly convinced by the phrase 'very, very, very few'.

Na man, you got it twisted.
The lack of enforcement on the current laws and regulations and the willingness of criminals to steal legally purchase firearms, illegally purchase firearms from private sellers, and just circumvent all the laws regarding the legal ownership of a firearm is what kills most of the people that die from firearms.
And you cannot impose a UK-style gun-free environment on the US. The US is too large. The amount of privately owned firearms are too large too confiscate and no politician would be insane enough to even attempt something even remotely close to that.
Lack of enforcement of laws and regulations and criminals circumventing the laws is what ends up killing most of the people that die from firearms.
I'm aware that gun proliferation has already occurred in the United States to such an extent that a nation-wide buyback of firearms would be entirely impractical, and that restrictions on guns would have to occur gradually. I don't feel the need to address your other points in detail, because they don't invalidate what I've said regarding gun violence, they just shift the blame.
