Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

I can't say much about Infinity Slayer because of my unyielding hatred toward it, but I will say that games like Slayer Pro and CTF work poorly because the maps were lazily built and were never edited to account for "non-Infinity" gametypes.

Any good features Halo 4 presented (like Loadouts) were shadowed by bad ones (spawning with Boltshot, Plasma Grenades).

There's a couple flaws with it, but I can manage to make do and have fun. That being said, it's better as a time waster, and more fun when you're with friends.

Eh personally im just getting sick of fps's they are all starting to feel the same.

My main gripe with it though, it does not feel like an arena style shooter.

-Effortless/no skill Sniper. My mom can snipe now because you can't get kicked out of the scope.
-DMR is overpowered
-No toggle objective pickups in MM
-No toggle objective drops in MM
-Common gameplay bugs and vise versa such as assassination cancel (this was beyond aggravating), armor ability manipulation, boltshot recharge, etc
-Lack of custom games and custom game options
-No 'Classic' gametypes
-Downgraded and glitchy Forge mode
-BS ranking
-Extra XP for Mountain Dew junkies (I am a water guy, wth)
-Insignificant XP bonus for winning games
-343i adding useless playlists and DLC, ignoring and denying that their game is junk, preventing to fix their broken game.

Too hard to adapt.

Motion sensor covers too large of an area now. I realize they did it cause sprint is in the game but darn it's hard to tell how far away people are.. I just can't adapt.

All these new guns. Can't tell what is stronger than what. Storm rifle, supprssor or assault rifle? I just can't adapt.

Teammates never stick together, and I have no friends because of my lack of adaptability.

The sound effects aren't the exact same as the Halo game I played when I was 10 years old.. It sucks now and I can't adapt to it.

These armour abilities. I can't tell what they do or what to use in different situations. It was easier when there was just grenades, guns and melee and slow movement. Way too damn hard to adapt.

I'm crying now, because Halo is ruined and I'm a sad little whiney piece of crap.

If everyone can spawn with plasmas and bolt shots, isn't it balanced? I unlocked almost all of the weapons after a couple of days.

Ordinance drops are nothing to be afraid of, it's not like an attack gunship or anything.

Ugly armor is an opinion, I personally like the armor because it reminds me of bionicles, and bionicles were the -blam!- back in the day.

What crutches?

People don't complain about multiplayer or firefight maps getting reused over and over, so why should we care about spartan ops doing the same?

Saying "terribad maps" does not automatically make your statement true. You have to back it up with solid reasoning, not just "I don't like it"

The boltshot has a range of about 2 feet, and I've only been killed with it once or twice in my 10 or so hours of MM. I think the pistol's scope and range are far more powerful anyway, and Promethean weapons are not hitscan (for the most part), so that is already a major downside in an FPS.

Everyone has access to the same perks and abilities, so why should it matter?

So I think your opinions need a little backing up before they become fact, my boy.

Why is instant spawn a complaint? I think it's a lot better to jump into the action instead of watching your dead body flop around for 9 seconds.

I used it for abit and it wasn't too bad but I find the pistol to be more useful in more situations.

Also, I like the firepower thing so I can have the AR, Suppressor or the other one (can't remember now) as my secondary.

Out of every 20 deaths, I probaby die from the Boltshot twice.

Just the robot snipers really, unless you walk ito a place with 3-4 jackals, which almost always happens.

it's just me against the world

It's not a bad game at all. It's definitely the smoothest shooter of all the Halo's. It just has it's deadly nuances.

-DMR is overpowered. (I have every "precision" weapon on their "distinguished" level, and the DMR is by far the easiest and least skillful to use. It is the closest thing to a point and click weapon you're going to get in Halo 4. Too accurate, and a little too strong)

-The Boltshot should not have that instakill charge shot. (it should be a shield drainer only, since you still have 4 bullets in the clip after 1st charge shot, and it takes 3-4 bullets to the body w/o shields or 1 shot to the head to kill.)

-The Mantis is slightly overpowered. (The Scorpion and Wraith both have their falls with speed and that their turrets need another spartan to operate. The mantis doesn't, it has the armor of both tanks, it only needs one person to operate both missiles and turrets, and has 25% more speed at least.)

-The blast radius for rockets should be slightly decreased.

-The Assault weapons (AR, Suppressor, and Storm Rifle) are a little too weak. In my experience with these guns, I get my butt handed to me at close range when going against the precision weapons. (mostly DMR) It discourages the use of these weapons for their intended niches.

Once these points are dealt with, the game will improve. until then; however, we just have to live with them, or play something else in the meantime.

And this is soley for the multiplayer. I do know about the lack of custom games, and the lack of good forge maps. But I'm not much of a forger, and I do miss custom games.

Bull-blam!-, I can wreck DMRs with my Storm rifle, you're just bad, boltshot is useless out of close range, and as I said I use the storm rifle, and the PP.

There are no pickup weapons on the map, leading to a lot of situations where you have no ammunition for your primary.

Pick up an enemy's weapon, it's what I did in all the other games when I ran out of ammo. I know you hear this alot but it actually works here: Improvise with what you have, Adapt

how? all it does is remove the stupid need for timed weapons and adds a little gambling to the game... more fun IMO and keeps the game tense, not knowing what the enemy has on them and keeping it a fair chance of either team winning is better than winning because you memorized the weapon placements better than the other team.

But hey, what do I know? I'm just a "crybaby competitive."

I'm not bringing up Instant Spawning because it's retarded in any game it exists in. Therefore, I avoid playlists that use it like the plague.

Trueskill is something I did enjoy, and I kinda want it back

Campaign is a little monotononus, but has a good stoy if you paid attention (monotinus? IDK)

-Chief plays like crap. Low jump height, lack of traction, takes forever getting in and out of vehicles. Noble Six reincarnate.

-Vehicles play like -blam!-. Scorpion's so slow and it's MP nerf makes it a poor choice for campaign. Wraith is more faster but it's increased bullet drop forbids use outside of it's autoaim range. Ghost no longer goes flying at random but it's still crap to drive it around walls. Hog doesn't flip as frequently as in Reach but it's still bad at maneuvering. Banshee's flips are pointless, it's fuel rod cannon is useless. Mantis is lame, enough said.

-Level design is god awful. Soft kill zones everywhere, strict invisible barriers, no solid out of map locations. Reach wasn't this bad, you had means to get past these. Oh and let's not forget about the holes in the walls and ceilings, that's a pretty big screw up. Reclaimer has a ton of those, though in that case, I'm actually glad they're present because fighting off waves of Ghosts and Wraiths for a ship's grav lift to suddenly become accessible is just stupid. And the rocks, they're so goddamn slippery. Getting out of the level using those is a pain in the ass! Lack of checkpoints on some levels and huge distances between them on others. Lastly, you have to do tons of waiting. In PoA, on Legendary, you didn't have to wait in the cryotube or punch open the broken door. In Dawn, things always plays out the same! And let's not forget how in some sections, you're forced out of your vehicle (i.e. right before the sniper section on Reclaimer, end of Reclaimer, if your Ghost is heavily damaged, when you're in the Banshee on Requiem). Disgusting! Oh and the loss of worthwhile or game changing easter eggs. And of course, the lack of ammo + disappearing weapons + forced weapons (especially on the Promethean levels).

Yeah...

RIP exploration.
RIP replayability.

-Legendary is still 'cheating bastard, dumbass, bottomless clip, fuel rod spamming, grenade spamming, extremely high enemy damage, weak Master Chief' bull-blam!-. Not one thing admirable about the enemy AI. Pretty damn frustrating and often, they're total pushovers without their cheap -blam!-. Not a challenge at all!

-Marines are noticeably pathetic in this game, especially since you have to keep them alive to even stand a chance during the holdout fight on Infinity. They're hard as -blam!- to control. In Halo 3, you could move them around by running into them while swapping guns. In this game, if you're too close to them, the prompt won't appear. Also in Halo 2 and 3, if you parked the Hog's driver seat against a wall, the marines wouldn't be able to drive off with it AND would stay right next to it. In this game, they can magically teleport into the driver seat.

-Easy is just unplayable. You're no longer a god. Your shield takes eons to start recharging, you can lose your shield pretty damn quick. There's no viable AI collections, no massive battles to engineer. There's no fights between different enemy factions to orchestrate or enhance. Normal and Heroic are even worse, they're pointless. Normal is the new Heroic? LMFAO Heroic was defined by AI. Normal is just more damage than before...

-Sandbox is always based on MP gameplay (in this case, every gun having a niche), even in the Campaign. DMR is pretty much the only reliable precision weapon due to it's magnetism, autoaim, range, firing rate, and power. Covie Carbine and Light Rifle are useful to a lesser extent. BR is only there for nostalgia. Plasma Pistol's only worth picking up for it's overcharge. Needler's not fun to use and not fun to fight.

Actually, in 4000 Halo2 games I was right around 1.20.

And it's always been the same for every Halo game, right at about 1.20 in Halo 4 after the initial learning curve.

Not great, but I think the fact that I have the exact same K/D ratio over all the Halo multiplayer games shows that they haven't gotten easier or 'dumbed down' as some would say.

If anything I feel like I have to be more on my toes now that there is sprint in the game. If someone was coming around a corner in the old days you could always easily judge where to land a grenade at their feet and make them a 1 shot BR kill (if the grenade didn't kill them). Now that they can come around at different speeds and the motion sensor shows much more area it's taken some time to adapt.

So, you jumped to wrong conclusions buddy. I played more Halo 2 than any other Halo game and did exactly the same 'skill wise' as I am in Halo 4.

Besides, I can't even look at my Halo 2 stats anymore. Who gives a crap about 'skill gap' and having some pro-skillz in a FPS when it only matters until the next game comes out? Little kids maybe who need something to brag about in high school.
