My OS is Windows 7.

I am 100% that the microphone is not broken.

Its just that, you know how you'd talk into the mic, and the green lines would go up and down and crap, but when I talk into it, it does nothing at all. I enabled this, and enabled that, no cigar.

So, freaking help.

Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

Looks like it's receiving no sound.

Your mic could be stuffed, your cables could be stuff, you might be mute and not realise it, your computer could be blocking the signal, a whole -blam!- number of things.

did you set up the mic from the win7 app? just look it up in the search option in the start menu.

That's the problem, it isn't, I talk into it, and can hear myself fine (because that's how the headset is, and I'm going to assume it works because of that) but the damned computer won't receive sound.

Great minds discuss ideas

Average minds discuss events

Small minds discuss people

Just got a pair myself, and they're not bad. Just make sure the pink cable is connected, as that's the mic input.

Obviously, but honestly, when I test it, all I hear is static mesh, so I'll just keep plugging it in, and re plugging it.

Make sure you have your computer set to you the headset instead of your default?

Control panel > Sounds > Recording

Funny, I was looking up a similiar problem I was having with these headphones about ten minutes ago.

Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Change it to the headsets.

Perhaps.

that didn't help at all

You said you're hearing static. That should be separate from the mic cable because you're hearing it through the headphones, which would be the headphone jack. So your turtle beaches split for headphone and mic jacks, correct? Usually when you plug in a 3.5 DUAL Mic-Headphone cable directly into a Mic jack, there will be static.

Turns out the problem was simple to solve, all I did wrong was plug in the pink jack into the rear, instead of the front.

If I ever see anyone post in a thread "That's your opinion", I immediately lose all respect for them.

Also, if you're discussing a topic with me and you resort to name calling, pull "life checks", or just call anything you don't agree with retarded without giving legitimate reasons, don't expect me to take you serious in anyway what so ever.

I had a pair of X12s do the same thing and I never could figure out the problem. I just ended up getting another headset.
