Subject: Is The Lord of The Rings: War in the North worth buying?

I would just like to say I am a massive fan of Tolkien's world, so the chances are that I'll like this, but the main reason I want to get this is because Tolkien never really talked much about The War in the North, Or in fact the North of middle earth at all, all I really saw of it was the maps in the books. To be honest I got a bit off the point there, back to my question, is 'war in the north' at least a decent game.

Major props to my hommie Sheeef. He made Recon possible for me. Long time recovering emails and passwords. And it was his. lol.

It's a very fun game!
If you haven't seen The Hobbit yet, do so! There are parts of the movie that tie into the game. Pretty cool. Or rather, game ties into the movie. Either way, they are linked.

Supreme Dictator, Industrial Polluter, Megalomaniac, Corrupt Politician, Underhanded Reprobate, Rainforest Ravager, Puppy Kicker, Oil Spill Coordinator, Holiday Hater, and an Insurance Salesman.

I've been playing it off and on for a little while now. It's pretty fun, but the combat can be a bit tedious at times.

Never seen or played or read any LOTR stuff but my friend is a big fan and he sure loved it. He tells me great things about the game with makes me want to buy it just for the game's sake, not just the story which I know little about.

So what does that tell you?

  • 12.26.2012 6:55 AM PDT

It is an amazing game, totally worth buying! The reason you haven't heard of the war in the North from Tolkien is because the makers of the game created it, and the story is parallel with the original trilogy. Despite this, the story fits very well and although the fighting is repetitive, it is still very fun.

Yeah, it's a great game. Very difficult at parts though.

A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal.

And from FOX, two phantoms were born.

"It is the cruelest fate, to have written words that meant well and see them made wicked and unwise. What was meant to encourage life, used instead to justify taking it."

It's a decent game. The best part about it is-

[SPOILER ALERT]

-seeing characters from the books that didn't make it into the movies, like Halbarad, Elladan and Elrohir, the barrow-wights, and Radagast.
New locations mentioned in the books are visited as well, such as the Barrow Downs, Carn Dum, Fornost, and Gundabad.

True, but it was a new appearance at the time the game came out.
