This story happened near my town and found it ridiculous.

A woman from out of town visiting family and friends for the holidays was playing fetch with her 1 year old chocolate lab when the pup ran into the neighbors yard. How did the neighbor respond, by shooting and killing it with his shotgun.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

Cutler admitted to shooting Wrigley because he didn't want the dog playing in his yard
Lets see how he likes being shot when accidentally setting a foot on someones garden.

A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal.

And from FOX, two phantoms were born.

That's sad, when she started crying I had to close the vid

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Lots of emotions at play in this one.

The ticketing of the shooter for discharge of a firearm in town gives me the impression that this is not a very urban area. In a lot of rural areas, but still "in town" this would be a standard charge. She could also sue him for the loss of her animal.

I know, that highlights a huge difference between rural, suburban or even urban life and values. The farther out of town you get, the more it is a matter of "my property" and "animals are livestock" and less a matter of "what if it had been a kid" and "what if your shot had crossed into someone else's property or hit someone" and "pets are a part of family".

I would be curious to know just how spread out the neighbors are. For a dog playing fetch to cross over into a neighbors yard, that is pretty close together and typically would have more stringent regulations regarding the discharge of a firearm and the danger/consequences within that close of residences.

He's obviously psychotic and needs to be put into a ward. Who shoots a dog for the heel of it? Someone -blam!- up in the head.

Thats a dick move. And he would regret that if it was my dog. But isnt he allowed to so this if the dog is on his property?

His name and address are all public record.

I suspect the rage he is going to get over the next month is going to be far worse than the ticket.

I don't see the issue here he killed an animal that was on his yard it doubt people would care if he did it to something like a rabbit/deer/ect. As for the charge that is kind of standard since in most places it is illegal to fire a gun in a residential area.

I don't see the issue

He shot a person's pet.

A domesticated dog isn't a rabbit or a deer.

It is still on his property for all he knew it could have been wild since the owner was from out of town. Also if it was against the law to do so when it is on his property he would have been charged with it, but he wasn't. As I said before there is no issue other than a pity thread in which case I don't see the need for one.

  • 12.26.2012 9:31 AM PDT

I'd be going to jail if that were my dog.
