Bane was cool, in that he had good dialogue and was a badass, (Talia sucked), but their entire plan was awful

*First off, the reasoning for their plan (corruption, all that BS, is dumb) Ras' goal was fulfilled after TDK when the police ran out the mob and basically eliminated the Gotham underworld. So Talia was just redundant and unnecessary.

*So, they wanted to keep the city hostage for 5 months, even if the bomb was going to go off, just to "Torture the world?" Already, there plan is shaky, but I'll roll with it I guess...

*But when Bane captures Batman, what does he do? Place him with a friendly inmate and the freaking DOCTOR. Who both happen to know Bane's entire history and escape plan. And he's surprised when Bruce returns?

*Hey Bane? If you wanted to torture Bruce by making him watch his city burn, why not...cut off his arm? Hell, Cut off just his fingers! He won't be able to escape!

*Okay, so Bane doesn't do that. Batman returns! Bane and Talia know! Yet...they still don't detonate the bomb? WHY? After FIVE MONTHS OF TORTURING A CITY, they can't detonate it ONE DAY EARLIER, because the person who can foil their plans returned?

*Hey Talia, ever heard of not talking so much? Classic villain mistake, but I thought Nolan was above it. You know how there was like two minutes left for the bomb before it detonated? If Talia didn't tell them she flooded the reactor, they would have flew it all the way over there, realized it's flooded, and then the bomb would destroy the city as it would then be too late to fly it past the bay.

It's hard for me to enjoy this movie when the villains make completely stupid decisions. I want to see how you guys counter and defend my points, though I'm expecting to be called a troll and be flamed.

I thought TDKR was the best in the series. Thats all I'm saying.

Not to mention that Ras' goal was fulfilled after TDK when the police ran out the mob and basically eliminated the Gotham underworld. So Talia was just redundant and unnecessary. Nothing they did made sense, and it's annoying how lazy the plot was. On top of that, Batman, a trained ninja, sucks at fighting and loses all of the fights he's in.

Also, nuclear reactors cannot turn into nuclear bombs.

Talia and Bane want revenger for Ras. Bane pretty much destroyed Bruce's back, so that's probably why he thought he wouldn't escape. Oh and the Talia thing about flooding the reactor, well I think more people would complain if Gotham actually blew up, rendering the other two films useless.

Good point about Ras' goal, I added that.

-Bane didnt want to torture his body, he said his soul. Ya, he could have done things to him, but Bruce welcomes death and any bodily torture would have led to that.

-Its likely they knew they didnt have enough time to get the bomb reconnected anyway, and if Talia didnt tell them she flooded it then Lucius would have just notified them

*Facepalm*

Of course nobody wants that, how about a different reason on how they find out it's flooded or Batman flies it over the bay?

Talia was the one who escaped.

Not to forget that this is a super-hero movie where Batman exist and as grounded and realistic as the movie tries to be, it is always a movie first.

People who try to compare it to reality and make points that is inconsistent with reality therefore= bad movie, just do not get it. That it's done with entertainment purposes in mind not a live re-enactment done with scientific scale to please the nerdy no-fun critics who like to compare realistic accuracy.

It's ultimately people who can't suspend themselves in a fictional world and immense themselves in any fictional story that end of hating this movie because it does not fit real-world rhetoric.

If you just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. A Super-Hero Movie. You might actually just enjoy it if you're willing to let go of the nit-pick.

If you don't like it that's fine. But making one-sided comments on elements that don't conform with how you would like it are just empty complaints that don't achieve anything but annoying people who do like the movie. But if you want to let it out fine. But at least have debatable points otherwise theres no discussion value.

IDK I mean if someone like the joker was able to come in and pretty much wreck the entirety of gotham I wouldn't say Ra's goal was accomplished.

The only fight Batman lost was against Bane, another trained ninja, and remember Bruce had retired, his fighting skills decreased from what they where, but then he beat Bane anyway. About the nuke, come on, it's a batman movie.

Honestly I got pissed when Talia turned out to be the main villain. Honestly I just thought she was totally stupid. And then she dies because women can't drive. And the plan was stupid: why hold the city hostage for 5 months when the bomb's going to blow it up anyways?

1) Torture the world? No, they wanted to inflict pain and suffering to Bruce and the people of Gotham. Like Talia said, the slowest knife is the most painful one.

2) Because Bane totally knew that the inmates were going to be kind and the doctor was going to help him. Besides, a Doctor was necessary to keep Bruce alive, as intended

3) That would have completely ruined the point of throwing him in that prison. The point of the prison is that it's torture of the soul. The people can look up and make them think they can escape but can't. Cutting of his fingers would ruin the point.

4) Bane already wrecked Batman before. Why should he be scared that he's back?

5) It's called stalling.

Here's another scene where Talia explains why

Wouldn't take away some suspense and urgency? And they don't need to make it more complicated, making Talia be the one to say it redeemed her character.

Then Nolan probably shouldn't have given it such a gritty and realistic feel to it. It's not at all nerdy to Google the question "can nuclear reactors explode?" and realize that the entire plot is nullified by the answer "no, as a matter of fact, they can't explode because that would be stupid".

-The villains' motives don't make sense
-The timeline doesn't make sense
-Bruce's depression doesn't make sense (because it's directly related to his awesome reactor becoming a bomb)
-The prison doesn't make sense
-Batman's lack of fighting abilities doesn't make sense
-WURRR IS DA TRIGGAAA

When Nolan worked so hard in the Batman Begins to give this Batman series a believable setting grounded in reality that people could relate to, he did it specifically so that people wouldn't have to walk away from his movie saying "oh, well that part of the plot was stupid but it's okay because it's just a superhero movie", and TDKR was a disgrace.

Here's Ra's Al Chul saying why Gotham must be destroyed in TKDR

God all of these people who ignore the scenes where the everything is explained.

Forgot about that. My bad. Though I thought her motives were explained as well. I agree that they were not the best villains.

Also, didn't you just make a thread about the movie?

The only fight Batman lost was against Bane

2 fights lost against Bane, another fight with Catwoman on a rooftop, and a car chase scene where he let the villains escape by distracting the cops.
