Steam's biggest flaw is that it's closest competitor, Origin, is liked about as much as a rabid wolverine in a maternity ward.

Not a flaw but I wish steam had an option where you could put your system specs and it will allow you to perform a game search that only shows games that could run on your PC. Minimum and recommended search. My PC sucks right now, 2 ram, 2.00 ghz, 256 video memory, windows vista, and a 1024x768 screen. I've saved up $130 so far but I'll only be able to put around $70 or so to my new computer fund.

Technically, when you purchase a physical game you do not own it either. The software (the game) still belongs to the companies that developed and published it. You're just paying for the right to use the software.

This doesn't really matter. Unless you're doing something illegal (pirating games, hacking accounts, etc). So if you're just an average user, there's no worries whatsoever..

I think what they meant is that your license for the game is tied to the steam service rather than being tied to the disc.

As long as you're not doing anything illegal or against the terms of service, that shouldn't matter.
That's completely untrue. Real issues that effect you whether you know it are not are: The inability to transfer the license to another person, and more importantly that if you lose access to the service (banned / forget recoveries and psswd) you lose all of your games.

This is based off the implication Steam is around forever.

Gaming companies rise and fall quickly. Whose to say Steam is going to exist two, three, five years from now?

I think you'd hate to see your entire Steam library lost because the company went under/gets bought out and have no legal recourse.

Yeah, I'm pretty surprised that the guys at Steam didn't try the game to see whether the features were actually there.

More likely they just let it slide because they knew that WarZ would earn a ton of money and they would profit too...

Forever Pyro

I tried to redeem my PC CoD4 which had STEAM SUPPORT into my Steam libary.

Steam didn't recognize it as a Steam supported game at all.

The same happens right now, just on a longer time frame.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Steam and Origin are almost the exact same thing except for the fact that everyone hates EA and Steam has better titles.

I HATE DRM!!! I would rather go to the store and buy a disc copy of a PC game, you know why? You can sell a used PC game if it has a physical copy.
