The cake is a pie

Yes yes, my sister's boyfriend ordered me A Clockwork Orange for Christmas, a classic I've been hoping to read for a while. Unfortunately, the copy he ordered turned out to be German. "Screw it", I said, "I know a little German! Alex und sein drei Freunde haben einen ... netten ... Abend?"

What do you think, Flood, should I take on this heavy read, of which I have virtually no preconception, in a different language? And while we're at it, what does netten and Abend mean?

13.72 billion years in the making.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

My first thought would be to put down a novel I can barely read, but that's just me.

Yes but it might just turn out to be a great way of learning German.

Uhm...you should probably get a English copy of the book, read that, and then read the German copy, so you actually have an idea of what you're reading.

That damn book is hard to read even in English. Good luck.

I still liked the story though.
