Well, I got a shaving kit that includes a brush, cup, and soap. Now I'm just waiting for the razor. But in the meantime, I'm gonna ask you guys for some tips on the traditional shave.

So, any tips?

CamCamm: How does that work?
Godshatter: I'm easily aroused by anything that moves. It's a curse.
Brain says 'No, that's ugly', body says 'ugly is fine with me'.

I use Dove Soap.

Oh, I saw an excellent instructional video on it. It was named after the barber featured in the video and shows his technique on many of his customers. Sweeney Todd, I believe it's called.

A lot of practice OP.

You'll get from this

To this in no time

I prefer to use a shaving gel over soap. Soap just doesn't work very well for me.

protip: when you shave your neck, it's best to press the razor firmly into your neck, and pull the razor across your neck as fast as possible.

that way shaving ends quickly.

and potentially permanently

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

The only thing I can think that you need advice on is to shave SLOWLY.
Also, if you want, shave once with the grain of your mustache/beard/etc. hair, then shave again against the grain, for a cleaner look.
Good luck.

No, I'm not ready for that.

I'm talking about a safety razor.

I've been using those for 6+ years.

You will most likely nick yourself many times in the beginning trying to work out the angles so you don't slice your face in half.

But given proper time and some patience, you'll go from looking like this to being able to do this or this.

Shave against the grain.

Oh, you can shove that bad boy into your face as hard as you want without hurting yourself. Just put shaving cream on and scrape away. Not sure what you need the shaving kit for.

See, I've heard otherwise. If you put pressure, you're more likely to cut yourself.

Not sure what you need the shaving kit for.It was a gift. I think it was an implication of something, but regardless, it inspired me.

I love my safety razor. It's such a better shave, and so much cheaper than cartridge razors.

And yes, you must go lightly on your skin. Let the weight of the razor do the work; don't apply pressure with your hand.

What I meant is that you won't be very likely to cut yourself compared to a straight razor...definitely don't press it into your face.
