Like it or not, the RPG is one of the most valued game genres of the industry. Always placing their focus on Story, characters, environment, and style; the value that is contained within one of these games is always something good be had.

Now, obviously I did not have enough room for all RPG games of the year. So that is why there is an "OTHER" option for your selection. If you do not like what is on the forefront of the list, get over it...

Mass Effect 3 was the only one I played. It was decent at best.

Xenoblade. Hands down.

Take me into your heart! Accept me as your savior! Nail me to the -blam!- cross, and let me be reborn!

I like Xenoblade as much as the next guy, but that came out last year.

I suppose you could still put it in the running if you consider Dawnguard and Dragonborn.

It's a game where you play a role.

You are taking on the ROLE of a character and making decisions based on your own personality. You are playing the role of either a Hero, or Anti-Hero... It is more that just number crunches.

To be honest, it isn't even a fair poll with the Witcher 2 on it.

Makes sense. I just usually though of RPGs as games where you level up and choose skills and what not. Mass Effect seemed more third person shooter than anything.

Well is it fair to poll Mass Effect 3 as an RPG when it does in fact feel more like a TPS with skill trees and dialogue options...

Out of the ones I played on that list, non had me completely engaged from start to finish like Dragon's Dogma did.

Seriously, that game was a blast to play through!

Anything but ME3.

Half of those titles don't fit the bill of an RPG. :/
