Ok, so I recently got a pair of gaming headphones for my computer.

They are great, except that I hooked up my headphones to my actual PC instead of my monitor.
In doing this, the sound plays through both my monitor and headphones.

I would like it to be headphones only.
How would I do this?
Thanks!

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Rightclick on your speaker icon (in your notification area). First look at default playback devices, you may have the ability to set/disable which one(s) you want. If not, go to settings and you should be able to set playback and volume prefs for either device.

And what if windows does not detect the headphones?
I already tried to disable my speaker, but it diabled my headphone's audio aswell.

And whenever I raised/lowered my volume for the speakers, it did so with the headphones.
