You know how some people just need that caffeine from their morning coffee to function? Well what if you could get it in other ways?

Caffeinated toothpaste. When you brush your teeth, the caffeine from the toothpaste would be absorbed through your gums into your bloodstream.

Would this work?

I love you

I don't know, I'm not a toothpaste expert.

  • 12.26.2012 1:50 PM PDT

Wouldn't that screw up your teeth and, on the days where you use a different toothpaste, your body won't have the caffeine which it will be addicted to and you'll crash

That's a good idea. In fact, I'm gonna go ahead and patent, trademark and other legal BS it for you.

In my name.

If caffeine screwed up your teeth, soda drinkers would have a problem. And it isn't any different from not having coffee one morning.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

If caffeine doesn't harm your teeth after repeated uses (like tobacco), and if only adults can buy it, then I don't see how it could hurt.
But then there is the problem of how high the concentration of caffeine is in the entire tube, and the chance of people using more toothpaste than needed.
I get your idea OP, but there are a lot of problems to solve first.

Haha that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the subject of this thread... if you post an idea that's actually good, you can bet someone will steal it.

I would say that it's a great idea, and maybe it is, but there'd probably have to be a lot of warnings on it about not taking if you have high blood pressure or are on certain medications and blah blah blah. And you would need a separate toothpaste for nighttime without caffeine (unless you're like me and get sleepy on caffeine lol).

You have ADHD if that last part is true. Also, even if someone patents it, as long as I can prove I came up with the idea (this thread) I get royalties, I believe.

A post on an internet forum is hardly compelling proof.

It's actually called an idiosyncratic effect. It's true that a lot of kids with ADHD will become more mellow with stimulant drugs but that doesn't necessarily mean they're ADHD. I'm 23 and have never been diagnosed with it.

Just sayin'...

  • 12.26.2012 2:16 PM PDT

Why not just caffeine contact lenses?

Caffeine clothes?

Caffeine pills?

Caffeine injections?

or you could have a coffee.

  • 12.26.2012 2:18 PM PDT

Caffeine is acidic, it wouldn't work in toothpaste.
