For those who have iOS and don't have a jailbreak, a hidden tethering app has made it's way to the app store. It's called "FlashArmyKnife".

Too activate the tethering go to calculator in F.A.K. Enter following:
1642, M+, C, 1452, M+, C, 1943, M+
When it says "run", tethering is running. Press "C" to stop tethering.

It's just $2.00. Tethering apps are great for when my Wi-Fi doesn't work or when I travel. I can easily hook up my iPhone's LTE to my iPad/laptop. i'm actually on the network right now.

If anyone has any troubleshooting issues with the app PM me or just post ITT

Please do not send me group invites.

Funny how they charge for functionality that should be included as stock...

It's also a good proxy too that you could use say at school. School not allowing you on YouTube? Just hit up the tethering app. Most school computers make you stay on a network but they do allow you to create a network - This app does just that. Good thing about it using cellular data is the IP is dynamic and it's whole lot harder to trace. No need for a VPN if you get perma-banned from 4chan.

I agree but oh well. I don't think any phone has native tethering abilities though.

Apple will probably delete it soon. It's not going to be free.

Why on Earth is tethering not built into iOS in the first place?

I can't think of a single reason why tethering would be bad for either party.

You're probably not thinking hard enough. The people at Apple are smart - They do things for a reason you should know that.

But my guess is probably some security issue or something idk.

Tethering is not bad. I believe its an extra feature that you have to pay your provider to unlock.

The iPhone has the capability to tether, but in order to use it you have to pay an extra fee with your provider in order to have it enabled. If you jailbreak or use an app such as this, however, you can by pass these restrictions and tether without any extra charge.

But if you don't have unlimited data, then it will eat up your allotted usage for the month.

Oh, just like every other smartphone. I was under the impression the iPhone was designed to not tether from the OP.

Yea, if they notice an obscene amount of usage it's pretty obvious you're tethering and not paying for it. And it breaks your contract, etc. You really have to be careful when it comes to that stuff. Some of the older jailbreak tethers made it so that it was harder for the carriers to detect this. Idk if they still do that or not.

Yea, definitely seemed like that and most people think that since it's not really as apparent with the iPhone as it is with most other phones.

Heavy weighs the crown, low hangs the head who wears it.

Why should you have to pay for tethering? It's just data usage. Why should they care how you choose to use the data you've paid for?

Also another thing, if you want to get the app once it's taken off the app store you can easily get a refund from iTunes. Just state your reason as the app was taken off the app store.
