...or delusional? There is nothing wrong with being vigilant all the time and suspicious and there is nothing wrong with assuming that everyone you meet is going to do you wrong unless your careful. That is how you protect yourself in life.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

It's a matter of perspective.

One person's "constant vigilance" is another person's "unreasonable fearfulness".

It generally comes down to a situation (or a series of them) and how the individual handles/responds to them and how that response is seen by others.

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

Well, some people who are constantly suspicious are psychotic and delusional. I have a grandmother with schizophrenia who always thinks everyone around her is secretly talking about her even when they aren't. Not much fun to deal with.

In my opinion, it would be that that person has a negative, cynical view on life. Yes protect yourself, but you don't need your guard up at all times. The entire world isn't a terrible place, it's only moments of negativity and violence that are exalted to the highest degree.

Why does every personality trait have to be labeled as a problematic disorder?

I am kind of the same way when I am sitting in the classroom and there are people whispering behind me but I'm not schizo crazy.

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

Because things that are different from the norm attract (usually negative) attention. If someone was convinced that they were a cat, they would be looked at strangely. A paranoid person has the same effect.

Uh...I didn't say you were.

But if you're constantly paranoid to the point where it impacts your life, you should see a doctor. I'm being serious here. Could be an anxiety disorder or paranoid schizophrenia. Depends on how old you are - the latter usually doesn't manifest until your very late teens.

Don't take my word for it, though. I'd see a professional if you honestly think that every time people behind you are whispering, they're talking about you. That's unhealthy.

Crazy people think they are a cat. Believing that the world isn't a safe place isn't a far-fetched idea.

Exactly. Eventaully, that will be labeled a personality disorder. I hate the way science thinks they can label and find a root cause for everything.

Because people want to remove "outcasts" from society and the quickest way is to label them "racist" "mentally unstable" and "dangerous". There are way more labels by the way.

Once they do this they can go back to living their false "lives" created by Madison Avenue, Wall street, and Washington.

There's a difference between knowing that the world isn't safe (reasonable) and believing that everyone wants to do you harm (crazy).
