And now every average Joe can get it.

This is an insult to every person named Joe.

Skill? I don't think that's quite the word for what you're trying to describe. Creating a discussable thread requires thought, not skill. Thinking isn't a skill.

Yes it is. Chess and Go takes skill, and Chess and Go are all about thinking.

I don't know how to discuss this without losing to semantics. You win.

And now every average Joe can get it... Why don't we increase the posts to get a hot topic to 101 posts. Just because.

I think putting weight behind the idea of a hot topic is a bit absurd. It's not a measure of skill, it's a measure of interest. And if the topic is stupid, than people are interested in that kind of stupid.

It's perfectly normal you will get topics that don't encourage a good discussion or provoking thought. No, if all topics were like this, the random fun of certain forums would disappear. As we see with The Flood, it is a double-edged sword, but there is a reason why the flood still moves pretty fast in-between games. It has no real atmosphere to it, so it can thrive due to it's nature...For better or worse.

It's never been difficult at all. And it doesn't really matter in any way so increasing the posts needed to make a hot topic is entirely pointless.

Anybody want to go boost hot topics?

"Life to you stepson and everlasting glory. " Thifes World.

Me want topics to be out of reach of common man GRR!* Can hear Op say in in a Grunt voice. Using my Elite voice.* Would that not be a topic to ask a mod or Ninja ?.

You see if people enjoy a topic. Good or bad it will become hot on its own. As for skill it does not take skill it takes forethought to make a topic of interest.

Willing particpants who discuss it in a mature manner instead of troll goop like the Flood.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

50 posts is fine. It shows it's good enough to carry a conversation/discussion. 101 is too much.

Challenge me to a Hawaiian Punch chugging contest. I dare you.

I'm gonna sell my account. It's had dozens of Hot Topics.

A better idea would have multiple levels for hot topic. 50 for Red Flames, 200 for Blue Flames, 500 for Green Flames.
That's actually a really cool idea Hylerbos.

If you use the forums to get hot topics, you are doing it wrong.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the motive of more than a few people.

^Love this idea.

OP: I do remember it taking a lot more substance for a thread to hit a hot topic a while back.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

No. I don't.
