This doesn't apply to me, but I do see this trend in a lot of other people OP.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

Cynics gonna sin.

My troll sense is tingling.

I avoid getting too hyped for games. I last did so with Red Dead Redemption, which is a great game but I admit I got too worked up about it.

Makes perfect buisness sense.

And this is where I turn Marxist. IN my opinion, after successfully getting hundreds upon thousands (millions even) of customers to buy your product, ethically you should not instantly force them to fork out further money to access other content, whether on the disk itself or via marketplace.

You're treating customers as if only their money matters to you. It seems pointless to spend 2 years creating a video game just to instantly alienate/exploit your fanbase so soon after release.

Instead, especially in these times, following release, publishers/developers should try to fix/polish their game to near perfection in order to maintain a fanbase who continuously plays your product. Then, a couple of months down the line add extra DLC.

Customers over profits in my opinion.
Quality over quantity.

Well if they're forcing you to download content, then that is wrong. Honestly if it's just stuff like armor skins or a bonus five minute special mode and other such fluff, I couldn't care less, but if it's major stuff or things that could have been major but ultimately aren't because it's optional DLC (see Prothean Ally in Mass Effect 3), that's pretty wrong.
