Subject: I'm building a good first-aid kit, anything I need to add?

Alright, so today after thinking about all the recent shootings, stabbings, murder and whatnot, I thought it'd be a good idea to build a Car First-aid kit, in the case the need for one comes about.

What I have right now:

Hand Cleaning Wipes

Antibiotic Ointment

Instant Burn Cooling Patch

4x4 and 2x2 Gauze Patches

Paper tape and Medi tape (1/2 inch and 2 inch)

Band-aids (water proof, Sport, toughs, sheer and butter fly Closures in multiple sizes)

Instant Cold pack

First-aid Guide (If anyone else uses my pack)

Non-Sterile Gloves (One pair)

Imodium (Antidiarrheal pills)

Laxative pills

2 500 MG pain relief pills and a small bottle of 200 MG pain relief pills.

Germ-x hand sanitizer

Insect Bite Relief Stick

91% Alcohol

Snake bite poison removal suction kit.

So yeah, I'm asking around if I forgot anything. Any pointers?

Also, does anyone else have a first-aid kit?

@spaboolly

I have always kept a first aid kit in my car, and also carry them with me when I travel. It is just good sense.

Depending on where you live, environmentally specific items may be advisable. Cold weather gear, plastic wrap for keeping wounds dry, whatever.

Growing up in the desert, I also once had a teacher advise students to keep a small amount of non perishable food (crackers, or something else that will not attract any bugs or animals) and bottled water in the car as well. I've never forgotten that lesson.

Sounds like a good idea, although I live in a subtropical climate so that's why I have the bug and snake bite stuff, a bottle water would be a good idea though if someone was about to have a heat stroke.

Too small for a gun, already have a flashlight in car and I will look for the last ones.

Throw a bottle of water in there. Never know when you might just need water.

So this stuff would be part of an emergency kit, maybe not just a first aid kit.

Non perishable food/water
Disposable cell phone w/ charger
Flares
Rope/paracord
Duct tape
Jumper cables
Tums?

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

I love watching the survivor reality shows on TV, and those people are always looking for food. So I would get a big bear trap so that you can catch food easier. Also, a microwave oven to cook the food in. You would also need a generator to power the microwave, so I would include that, too. And if it's cold outside, a nice hot bowl of soup would be great, so pack a big pot, along with some bowls and spoons. You would also need shelter, so don't forget a tent and some extra sleeping bags in case you're traveling with a big family. Also, if you happen to have a dog with you, don't forget about him. So pack a dog house and doggie treats. And if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere for a long period of time, you might get bored, so I would suggest packing a TV. You can get big screens for cheap these days. I would also pack my DirecTV satellite dish since regular TV programming sucks. Also, at least a laptop computer, and you can even think about a desktop if you have room.

You might find it prudent to include some kind of knife.

because the ones at Walmart are laughable. trust me, that's what I started out with in my first aid kit and it only has enough for small cuts.
