Why do people like it so much? I tried BioShock 1 because people were saying how awesome it was. It was at a friend's house and I got bored after around 2 hours. I didn't touch anything BioShock for around a year. But then one day BioShock 2 was on a sale on Steam and I decided, why not try it? And then I played it for another 2 hours and got bored. I'm not saying it's a bad game but man it bores me and doesn't stand out as anything special. When I play games, if it isn't that fun I will just play a few hours just to see what it is all about and make my money worth something, but if it is a good game I can play for over a hundred hours.

Because it is a good game.

Because that was one of the few good games back in 2006-7 when the 360 came out.

Take me into your heart! Accept me as your savior! Nail me to the -blam!- cross, and let me be reborn!

I can't take your threads seriously OP. Everytime I see your name I chuckle.

But seriously, Bioshock had a great atmosphere, fun gameplay, and a very good story.

Well, the original has one of the best plot twists in video game history.

Bioshock is the whole reason I bought a 360, to each his own I guess.

I didn't like the gameplay. You fight the weirdest enemies and you move slow and clunky. I like moving fast and outmaneuvering the enemy. Also, the weapons you use aren't very interesting. From what I played the most memorable weapon is the drill.

The atmosphere and setting were interesting, yes.

Story wasn't bad but doesn't stand out as anything special.

And he entered the service of the Dark Tower when it first rose again, and because of his cunning he grew ever higher in the Lord's favour; and he learned great sorcery, and knew much of the mind of Sauron; and he was more cruel than any orc.

At the time of its release, it was phenomenal. I hadn't really played anything with outstandingly impressive gameplay, so the lack of fluidity wasn't too bothersome. What really stood out was the brilliant atmosphere and plot line. As far as immersion and intrigue go, it's easily one of the most well-crafted video games released for the 360.

Both have Levine. That's why I'm so excited for Infinite.

If you only played the game for 2 hours how can you comment on the story?

You got to have the right attitude I think, you need to give in to the story and really immerse yourself in it and then it becomes amazing.

Losing myself in Rapture is one of my most favourite recent gaming memories.

So basically you think the story was nothing special because you know basically nothing about it. At least that's how I see it.

You should finish the game before you formulate a final opinion on the story, OP. If you still don't like it, then you're entitled to your opinion.
