Halo 4 still being the second most played game on live.

Yep, it's dead.

It's because it's an awful game. I literally can't think of a single redeeming factor about the game... infinity slayer is a joke, and spartan ops is utter -blam!-. Firefight was so much better.

You shoot things and they die; it has graphics and music.
Promethean weapons look cool.

Not yet.

WALL OF SHAME-Posting stupidity since 2010

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

Almost. Let it die and you'll get classic halo back cuz then 343i will realise how stupid they made halo 4.
No going back now.

Hey baby, you're just like my big toe. I'm gonna' bang you on every piece of furniture in my house. ;)

I got Halo 4 recently, I think its pretty fun, but 343 made some of the dumbest decisions IMO.

1) Instant respawn is a joke, thats not Halo.

2) Having to unlock emblems, as if weapons and armor permutations wasn't enough (not the biggest deal, but its still kind of stupid that they did it)

3) Weapon loadouts, again, thats not Halo.

I'm all for trying new things, I really liked equipment/armor abilities, but these things just go against what made Halo what it is IMO.

It won't die because well it's a mindless console game which attracts many casual gamers but I do think that it got rid of a lot of the remaining core fan base.

Currently my copy is gathering dust whilst games like Battlefield 3 and Far Cry 3 are getting my full attention. My problem with the game is that after about a week of playing and having great fun people started to figure out that the weapons were horribly unbalanced causing every one to use the DMR and about a week after that a huge skill gap formed which is what destroyed the game for me. That, and it's very boring and repetitive.

That's right. I just dropped some AOL IM protocol.

Thank The Lord for this thread. We weren't sure if anyone had an opinion on Halo 4.

I am a pharmaceutical scientist. I received my Masters degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2010, after working as a Pharmacist for 4 years. I currently work in King of Prussia, PA, and focus on the analytical chemistry of small molecule APIs. My clients include some of the most well known big pharma companies in the world.

People seem to forget that when Halo 3 came out, CoD's online popularity was only just beginning to be established and Battlefield wasn't really even in the discussion. Fast forward 5 years, and the FPS landscape has changed greatly. There's simply TOO MANY options for gamers today.

Even if 343i said that their next game was going to be a straight up Halo 3 remake with HD graphics; it releases and scores a 10 out of 10, critically acclaimed by users and critics alike...It's still never going to get back the population that Halo 3 had at its peak, because there are simply just more options now.

If you play Battlefield, Halo, or CoD, you understand that all three have a particular brand and style of gameplay that you prefer. There's next to nothing that is going to convince gamers at this point to break allegiance to the series they love.

For what it's worth, I've rated Halo 4 as "incomplete". I'm waiting to see what happens with the TU and ranking system. However, Halo 3 is still my all-time favorite. I just accept the reality of the current FPS landscape, which is a reality that many here fail to accept.

TL;DR: Reskin Halo 3 with new polish and I'll throw 50 more dollars at the same exact game.

That's...all I'm really hearing here. I respect your opinion, (I guess.) but I disagree wholeheartedly.

Duh. You havent noticed? Its not that halo 4 sucks its that they just want halo 3 back.

People say they want Halo 3. They mean to say they want the classical experience. Halo 4 sucks - it deviates too far from the Halo experience we've all (or most of us) come to love. So when we say we want Halo 3 back (Halo 2 or Halo 1), we want the Halo experience in general to return.

That's how I look at it anyway. I'm here and i'm still playing Halo 3 with my bro. We are having a blast in multi-team!

Been playing halo 3 as well. I have a question why is it when I play a game all of a sudden I freeze up and have no body? I was thinking I died but I could still see through my corpse but I wasnt respawning. I couldnt move at all. This has been happening many times now and Im sick of it.

I'm not quite sure what you're experiencing but I haven't had sometihng weird like that happen to me for some time. I remember a couple years back or so I once died. My view dropped down with the corpse but I was still able to pan my view 360 degrees. I wouldn't respawn. Must have been lag
